#1 No problem, at least in Chicago. There is the now the sweetened beverage tax, which should reduce consumption.

Oh, that's right, merchants must now track EBT purchases of Mountain Dew, etc., as the new tax must not be charged to those receiving "entitlements" of the "drop another kid and get a raise" kind.

#3 A lot of people can handle drinking sugary drinks without becoming unhealthy. Similar with booze, some folks can't handle it, and in a free society they need to sort that out themselves.
