Or the US anti-war protests (and neutrality movement) in the in the late 30s and early 40s? That IIRC, came to a screeching halt when the Ribbentrop Pact was broken and Moscow started burning.

Look at the motivation behind all three and the recent ones. I suspect it's turtles all the way down.
