#1 And this is an improvement over existing setups how? It's easier to break?
Why you would want a single platform to operate all you weapons from is questionable; it just means that when there's a fault, everything stops working at the same time. Redundancy is a good thing in combat.

#2 Just a turret that can fire more stuff. No different than the IFV or tanks we have today. There are two firing stations in the turret. The gunner and the commander. Usually the gunner does it but the commander can grab an override switch and fire himself.
Sounds like a similar set up with more toys.
