#1 I'm all for tax reform. Unfortunately most people in this consider a far tax plan is one that has them pay nothing and the other guy gets screwed. Somehow I think Amy's idea is a simple two line form 1040.
1) How much did you make
2) Send it in.
Maybe its time to try a flat tax with no deductions, no exemptions.

#2 I'm all for cutting corporate taxes IF there is some way to "insure" that the savings are plowed into R&D investment or price cuts.

Just letting the money fatten the fat leaves a very sour taste and I'm a fan of uncle Miltie's flat tax.

#3 if it were up to me I would abolish the corporate tax and make it up with a value added tax

same people would be paying but the ones who have gamed the system would have their tax go up and the others would have theirs go down

it would put numerous tax lawyers, lobbyists and accounts out of work

#4 it would put numerous tax lawyers, lobbyists and accounts out of work

There's a downside to everything!

#5 There's a lot of lefty confusion about tax rates, tax brackets, and the Standard Deduction: Raising the Standard Deduction to 12K per person is a VERY big deal and VERY family friendly.

But "Math be hard" for them...

#6 They'll end up means-testing the deductions so people who might benefit from it, and the simplified paperwork, won't.

#7 I have talked to a number of liberals about taxes and to sum up their beliefs:
* Tax corporations into extinction because they are evil
* Tax the rich more and more (even to extinction if possible) even if that means the US government has far less money because the rich are evil (with exceptions for select liberal rich).
Logic doesn't seem to sink in, liberalism really is some kind of mental disorder.

#8 I LOVE how Democrats are all-the-sudden concerned about deficits and balance sheets. See? Trump vote value rises daily
