#4 I guess they decided that Franken was less of a liability than the VP of Planned Parenthood whom the Governor of Minnesortaliberal was going to appoint to fill Franken's seat.

#6 This is better for the GOP as he would have been replaced by a DEM anyway and this way when the seat comes up again he's tainted and no other DEM has an incumbent advantage.
