#1 No. That's why we invented cows.

#2 My favorite insects are lobster and shrimp. I think they taste mighty good.

#3 Depends on the kind and thickness of the chocolate you coat them with.

#4 I would like to know how it compares nutritionwise, bite for bite, to a steak or rat. The article mentions how nutritious insects are in general terms, but the journalist’s enthusiasm (no hardboiled reporter would write something like this) does not extend to hard data.

Then I would want to know about the effort required to produce a plateful of buggy nutriment versus hitting a cow over the head and slitting its throat. Because if the effort is great for a wonderful result, then like the price tags at the grocrey store that show the price per ounce, it may be too high for any society that can afford to grow great herds of steak and roast chicken.

#5 I could see civilized Western folks eating crickets, maybe. Blocky, inoffensive little beasts. And the crickets are cute, too.

Mankind made a deal with the chicken:
"That stuff that is buzzin' and clickin'
Is yours for the peckin'
And, later, we'll reckon..."
They shook. And the rest? Finger-lickin'!

#7 Cuisine au courante equatorial,
Recovered from time immemorial
When dishes were grabby
And bit back: "Mmm, crabby!"
"Tarantulas, ground or arboreal?"

#8 Chocolate covered ants. Deep fried Tarantulas are another that comes to mind. Think Crab meat. I guess.
