#1 No president, or senator, or congresscritter, let alones mayors, aldermen, council members and dog catchers can be "for everyone". I think we can be sure some people didn't care for George Washington. As for broken promises. I was taught to believe in political and campaign promises as much as the Easter Bunny and Santa. Just once I would like to see a candidate say "if elected I can't promise you I will do this or that. I will tell you what I would like to accomplish".
