Update 12:50 am: Shooting suspect in custody

The suspect in the shooting incident that happened on CMU’s campus is now in custody.

The suspect was seen and reported by an individual on a train passing through the north end of campus shortly after midnight. Law enforcement personnel responded and arrested the suspect without incident.

CMU President George E. Ross thanks the campus and surrounding community and many law enforcement personnel who came together to keep each other safe and apprehend the suspect.

#3 Tragic. The kid was from an actually involved and intact family.

Sounds like his folks went to see him after his 'medical incident', and probably demanded a 'what gives' from him. Good parenting from where I came from.

My Conjecture - James, being 19 (still stupid) and now in the drug/gang culture since being away from the folks, didn't want to deal with that so took the young hoodlum 'no-disrespect' approach.

#6 Scuttlebutt on the internet hinting that the soon to be deceased father had left his service pistol in the car since the dorm was a "no gun" zone. Shooter knew where the pistol was, went & retrieved it, etc.
