#1 Iran has the same problem. The corruption and oppression of the religious rulers turns people away, especially the idealistic young. It’s good to see that the deliberate brainwashing is not taking, at least with some.

even many Islamic clerics will admit that only the fear of being killed for doubting is what keeps Islam alive

#3 There are two countervailing forces at work here. One is the tendency for kids to rebel against whatever their parents believe. The other is the nature of Islam to kill heretics and unbelievers. The later property makes Islam very resistant to change.

#4 The irreligious will have few or no children, whereas the Muslim zealots will have innumerable offspring. So there's no danger to the status quo.
