#1 Dozens of burning kites were flown from Gazoo across the border over the weekend, sparking several fires in Israeli fields, Hadashot TV news reported Saturday night. In the past month, 300 "attack" kites have been flown across the border, the report said, setting off 100 fires.

In recent weeks, Gazooks have been flying kites into Israel outfitted with Molotov cocktails and containers of burning fuel, setting fire to large swaths of fields.

Yeah, but it's still spring, and any fires can only affect the fallow sections of fields. Which would normally be a benefit, except for the gasoline contamination.

#2 Several articles on the subject of incendiary kites have mentioned that it is close to harvest time, Fairbanks, and Israeli farmers at the receiving end of the things have been claiming losses on the order of well over $1 million. Their grain planting season starts in November for wheat and barley.
