#1 And the reason for bringing the student pilots to the Big PX as opposed to 'in-country' training ?

Perhaps the goal of bringing them here had little or nothing to do with aviation.

#2 Once they see the big city lights you just can't keep 'em down on the farm anymore. Also, these people have heard what happened in Iraq to those who cozied up to the west. They have little faith that the bad old days of the Taliban in charge are not on the way back.
