#1 The story is so weird it leaves you speechless. Half in awe of the futility of a life misspent, and half at the ridiculousness of people calling the man 'a legend who never wavered from his beliefs', despite 62 years of denial by the universe.

His real achievement was to be invited to universities to lecture about evil govt. conspiracies and share stories of people abducted for anal rape and dumped in fields.

#2 Congenial fellow. Well liked and respected. True his interests differed from the general public but he stayed the course. Media coined the term flying saucers.

#3 He died without ever seeing an UFO during his 62 years of research and got paid for it? I'm somewhat envious of his abilities.

I'm going to look into unicorns and see how that might go.

#4 I've seen a few UFOs in some greasy spoon/mess halls.

Indigestible Fried Object.

#6 +Another loser in the interplanetary Hide-N-GoSeek competition. Next month Hide-N-GoSeek champ Bigfoot will not give an interview on the CW network.

#7 guy is probably a vegetarianism as well; if after all those years hunting but not capturing a ufo, think he’d have any better luck bagging Bambi?

#8 Shit if you only knew a tenth Stanton Friedman's education, credentials and extensive deep research.

Friedman was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist for such companies as General Electric (1956–1959), Aerojet General Nucleonics (1959–1963), General Motors (1963–1966), Westinghouse (1966–1968), TRW Systems (1969–1970), and McDonnell Douglas, where he worked on advanced, classified programs on nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and compact nuclear power plants for space applications.

We had a chance to attend one of his lectures on nuclear rocket engines. The developmental methodology was one hell of an eye opener.

I also heard him go off one SETI. His observation was, "if you were looking for proof of life in the prairies, would be searching for telegraph wires?"

There are a lot of quacks out there. Stan was not one of those idiots. Even though he retired, his death is a great loss to the rational UFO research.

#9 Interesting, Woodrow!

Fermi's Paradox is named after physicist Enrico Fermi and refers to the apparent contradiction between the lack of evidence for and various high probability estimates of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations elsewhere in the Milky Way galaxy.

Personally,I think if UFOs had visited our charming planet, we would see the intergalactic equivalent of discarded 12-packs, knocked-over mailboxes and tire tracks across the lawn. But as that hippie astronomer said, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
