.3937 inch divided by .03937 == ~ 10mm

3.93 inches divided by .03937 == 100mm or 10cm

I have used the .03937 coefficient for years in my work in the machine shop.

39.37 inches = 1 meter
39.37 divided by 100 == .3937 , which is one centimeter
39.37 divided by 1000 == .03937 , which is one millimeter
