#1 HRC, so far, has DJT by the fuzzy ones.

#3 Hillary is a smooth wonktalker. It's in her AI. Trump was talking law and order. I think most people want that

#4 Sorry - I tied up in a more productive use of my time: I'm watching oil paint dry.

#5 It feels like a tie so far, to me, but I am not really good at this kind of thing. I think some if the things Mr. Trump is saying are new to the other side of the aisle. Some of the things she said thus far increased my inclination to crawl over broken glass to vote.

ICE endorsed him? Wow. Military I would expect.

#6 As much as I would prefer Mr. Trump to Ms. Clinton, I believe he is presenting himself as wholly unprepared to, vis-a-vis HRC, assume the Presidency. He looks tired and more than a little wound up, and the nasal thing is reminiscent of Al Gore. She appears calm, self-assured and condescendingly Presidential; we're used to it, though.

She's not, but appears preferable.

#7 Yet Drudge shows a "uuuuge" margin in favor of DJT by an almost 12:1. Gotta' be sampling error.
Posted by Blossom Unains5562 2016-09-26 22:30||   2016-09-26 22:30|| Front Page Top

#8 It's Drudge viewers, so the sample is biased. The question is how biased.

But it will be interesting to see how Mr. Trump climbs the learning curve in the next two debates.

#9 At approximately 8:00 P.M., market futures, after being spanked today, began trading upwards.

#10 Well Trump got his wish.

The debate was unmoderated.

But he faced 2 opponents.

#11 Double teamed.

#12 The Time Magazine poll has it 55 to 45 favor of Trump.

#13 Clinton seemed to get to talk as much as she wished, but every time Donald tried to respond, Ol' Lester suddenly had to move on to the next point. Good thing Donald has the stones to drive over the top of this obvious favoritism.
Posted by gorb 2016-09-27 00:27||   2016-09-27 00:27|| Front Page Top

#14 But for obvious reasons, little will be said about Lester's quite apparent bias.

Reminds of the teevee home security alarm commercials. An altering of inconvenient facts has become common practice.

#15 The question we have to ask ourselves "Do the voters actually give a **** about TV debates nowadays?"
Posted by g(r)omgoru 2016-09-27 06:30||   2016-09-27 06:30|| Front Page Top

#16 We could do without moderators in these so-called debates. They serve no useful purpose that I can see. Put questions in a hat and then draw them out of a hat and then let it rip. No gloves, bare knuckles anything goes, nothing is off-limits (figuratively speaking). Let it go on until someone cries uncle or collapses at the podium.

Last night seemed like a tie to me too.

#17 I'll add a couple of other impressions of HRC debate.

1. “You know what else I prepared for? I prepared to be President.” (That was creepy.)
2. “Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said the entire country suffers from implicit bias” (projection and also creepy).
3. The laughter and smile on Hillary’s face seemed inappropriate for what was going on in the debate (sometimes it indicates a psychological disorder or organic disease such as brain camcer).

#18 I felt he was unprepared and missed golden opportunities to bring up Clinton's corruption. He was trying to be polite. I hope he does better next debate.

#19 I feel sick to my stomach after watching that debate.

#20 She did what I figured she would do. Get under his skin, drag him down to her level of crass idiocy and them beat him with experience from there.

Not keen on the Donald, but he did manage to shut Lester down mostly. He actually held his own against the shrew for the first 30-40 minutes. After that her smug smarmy manner, got to him I believe.

#21 She didn't cough for four minutes or pass out on stage, so she barely won, with help from Captain Forehead.
Posted by Raj 2016-09-27 11:34||   2016-09-27 11:34|| Front Page Top

#22 She looked healthy. It'll be interesting to see if she's over her bad health or if they were able to do something like a blood transfusion to get her through the event.
Posted by rjschwarz 2016-09-27 13:04||   2016-09-27 13:04|| Front Page Top

#23 I counted it a wash. Which considering a 6:1 or greater interruption of Trump to Hillary, not-neutral questions/topics, and the quick to point out illegal stop-and-frisk to not pointing out illegal destruction of evidence and unsecure classified information handling, is alright.

That is, I do not think either candidate lost last night.
Posted by swksvolFF 2016-09-27 13:18||   2016-09-27 13:18|| Front Page Top

#24 Also, looked like both candidates wanted to play extra innings.

#25 I think one thing should be kept in mind. By now, any one of the other 16 Republican candidates would be reduced to quivering jelly.
Posted by g(r)omgoru 2016-09-27 13:20||   2016-09-27 13:20|| Front Page Top

#26 Indeed.
Leaving the pitch tied 1-1 when the hotel's alarms rang all night and the other team starts 12 is not a loss.

Other trick was a constant side/side shot to give the impression of equal physical stature. Didn't think it all through; the red picked up the mic shadow - local commented it looked like a drool spot.

Trump sounded like he had a cold to boot. Looks like that is being sold as a drug habit, which in and of itself creates a paradox - OK for current president, not OK for Trump, but OK for Clinton. Garbage thinking is apparently an industry.

#27 I call it a draw. Hillary didn't die or spit up a hairball. Trump didn't look insane.

Trump could have gone at her hard, but I don't think that was the plan. Time enough later.

#28 Almost all online polls except CNN gave the debate to Trump. One would think that many of these online poll participants lean heavily to the left such as Time and others like Time and yet the polls came out in favor of Trump by a considerable margin. The ultimate poll will occur Tuesday November 8.

#29 Considering he was debating both HRC and the moderator, not bad.
Posted by Voldemort Phique6041 2016-09-27 15:30||   2016-09-27 15:30|| Front Page Top

#30 Sorry but Trump has only himself to blame. He got so many chances to raise issues that hurt Hillary but let them go to defend his own stuff like taxes etc.

He needed to be prepared to hit her hard with facts about the emails but rather conceded it was "smart" to pay no federal income taxes or take advantage of the housing crash. When the topic cyber security came up he got a second chance to talk about Hillary's irresponsible sloppiness wit classified info. Didn't happen.

He even got the golden opportunity to talk about Benghazi when Hillary - unwisely - brought up her 11 hours of testifying. He didn't.

He rambled about her "bad experience". What he should have done is to hammer her on granting favors to donators. Another opportunity missed.

He showed up with a knife to a gunfight.
