I did the best I could in terms of articles last night, badanov, but it went on long enough I gave up and left it for this morning.
So today I’m getting done in bits over the course of the day, which is no doubt a better way to handle it anyway.

It appears the attacks have declined in intensity. Still, I have at least a coupla more days to mitigate the attacks.

Nevada, USA, August 29, 2025, 08:57 — Regnum News Agency. Seventy piles of human remains have been discovered in Nevada south of Las Vegas. This was reported by WFLA-TV, citing the Bureau of Land Management.
"An official confirmed to investigators that the piles were human remains," the report said.
According to the TV channel, the local investigative department is currently conducting an investigation to establish the causes of the incident.
At the same time, under current law, Las Vegas allows the scattering of ashes on public lands of the city, but there is a ban on the “commercial distribution of cremated remains.”
[NYPOST] The 93-year-old co-founder of Cracker Barrel blasted the homestyle restaurant chain's execs for allowing changes that damaged the 56-year-old business as he urged CEO Julie Felss Masino to leave the logo alone.
Tommy Lowe, co-founder of the first Cracker Barrel in 1969, accused the former Taco Bell executive of trying to rival the chain's widely criticized $700 million modernization effort.
''They're trying to modernize to be like the competition — Cracker Barrel doesn't have any competition,'' Lowe told WTVF Thursday. ''I heard she was at Taco Bell. What's Taco Bell know about Cracker Barrel and country food? They need to work on the food and service and leave the barrel — the logo alone.''
The nonagenarian's comments come after Cracker Barrel executives reversed course on a much despised logo redesign that removed the famous ''barrel'' and Uncle Herschel from the chain's branding.
Lowe slammed the rebrand as ''pitiful'' — saying Masino didn't understand Cracker Barrel's identity because of her background in fast food.
''Spending $700 million dollars doing that is throwing money out the window,'' he said.
Lowe claims Masino doesn't know who he is and revealed he has never met with the executive since she was named Cracker Barrel's President and CEO in July 2023.
Masino began implementing changes to the menu, interior design and prices soon after assuming the coveted position in November.
The initial changes went under the radar for most customers, but Masino's most recent alteration raised eyebrows across the nation.
Lowe, who served as Cracker Barrel's Vice President of Operations and held a decades-long seat on the board of directors, said Masino was trying to compete with competition that didn't exist.
Following the immense backlash and plunging stocks, Cracker Barrel executives decided to reverse course and return to the ''Old Timer'' logo.
''We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel,'' the company said in a statement. ''We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our 'old timer' will remain.''
The about-face followed days of protests on social media against Cracker Barrel's rebranding efforts — capped on Tuesday with Trump weighing in and advising the company to go back to the original logo design.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The President Mahdi Al-Mashat confirmed ''the steadfastness of Yemen's position in support of Palestine until the aggression is stopped and the siege on Gaza is lifted.''
In a statement on Thursday evening, President Al-Mashat said: ''The Zionist leadership is lying to the settlers with fake news,'' confirming that ''Zionist strikes are failures and will remain failures, and our long arm will teach them the necessary lesson.''
He reiterated that ''the region will not calm down with the presence of this transient, criminal, and ephemeral entity,'' pointing out that ''the Zionist entity is the problem, and it is upon all the people of the region to unite efforts and stance to confront this cancerous gland and uproot it.''
He explained that ''the criminal Netanyahu is dragging the Zionist entity to its end,'' and said, addressing him: ''You have entered a challenge with a people you are not on the level to face.''
President Al-Mashat concluded by confirming that ''Netanyahu is a failure and is trying to get out of his internal crises by running amok in the region,'' stressing by saying: ''We have foiled your conspiracies against your will. So howl as you wish, and your strikes will not shake a hair on the head of even the smallest of our children.''
The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) is allegedly kidnapping pregnant women in the Mexican border city of Juárez to obtain their newborns and traffic them into the United States, BNO News reported citing a report from journalist Katarina Szulc.
Washington, August 29, 2025, 13:34 — IA Regnum. A Russian Su-35 fighter jet intercepted a US Navy P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft with a secret radar. This was reported by the American magazine Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
A video of the interception of the American military aircraft over the Black Sea had previously appeared online. It was presumably filmed from the cockpit of a fighter jet flying parallel to the P-8 Poseidon.
In the published footage, the author of MWM noticed a new radar station (RLS) AN/APS-154 Advanced Airborne Sensor from Raytheon. The device is mounted under the fuselage of the P-8 Poseidon. It is noted that such a radar is rare and secret equipment that allows tracking moving targets at sea and on land, as well as creating high-quality images at night and in bad weather.
"The defining feature of the radar system is its ability to scan water and land simultaneously, allowing for coastal reconnaissance as well as tracking submarines and surface vessels," the publication says.
According to the publication, the US currently has about 125 P-8 Poseidons in service. It is noted that they are often used for reconnaissance over the Black Sea.
In October 2024, a Boeing P-8 Poseidon came dangerously close to an Su-35 over the Mediterranean Sea. The incident occurred while the Russian fighter was performing a scheduled flight.
Almost weekly in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, a sensational assault committed by an illegal migrant—often enjoying some sort of state support or with prior arrests for the same crime—surfaces.
Until recently, European politicians and the media sought to either ignore such news or accuse those who clamored for tighter borders, more police protection, and stiffer penalties of being "racists" or "xenophobes."
Until recently, that is.
Mass protests are now common in Britain against the Labour Party’s open borders policies and generous welfare entitlements for immigrants who arrive illegally and without authentic "political refugee" status.
Greek officials, also swamped by illegal immigration, now cite President Trump’s secure border policies as new models for their own.
The majority of European immigrants now come from majority-Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Yet many arrivals seem angrier at their newfound liberal hosts than at the dictatorships they fled back home.
Europe’s immigration policies will not work in a multiethnic democracy.
Too many immigrants are arriving too quickly, without sufficient diversity, language fluency, skills, or familiarity with the customs and culture of their host nations. They often enter with separatist religious and cultural values antithetical to the very place they seek refuge.
Yet, there is no European plan of civic education to assimilate immigrants and teach them the rules, laws, and culture of their hosts.
It is then no surprise that what follows is ghettoization, resentment, and loud attacks on the very nation in which they seek sanctuary, denouncing it as decadent and godless.
In the past, Europe’s anemic military budgets, reliance on borrowed money, socialism, and a once-strong economy papered over these existential challenges of illegal immigration.
Or, as left-wing former chancellor Angela Merkel once inanely said of massive illegal influxes into Germany and Europe, "Wir schaffen das" ("We can do this").
But, of course, Merkel could not.
She offered zero plans on how to integrate, assimilate, and acculturate millions of Europe’s illegal aliens. Now, some 15 percent of Germany’s population are foreign nationals.
Unfortunately, the statist economies of high-cost Europe are stagnating.
Massive welfare outlays, coupled with a shrinking and aging native population—with a birth rate sinking below 1.4—are finally slowing economic growth.
Current German Chancellor Friedrich Merz put the dilemma bluntly: "The welfare state as we have it today can no longer be financed with what we can economically afford."
Yet the more socialism ossifies, the more popular culture still demands free benefits that a shrinking number of taxpayers can no longer provide.
The United States is finally taking the opposite approach of cracking down on illegal immigration, deregulating the economy, and unleashing high technology to fast-track new frontiers of artificial intelligence, robotics, cryptocurrency, and genetic engineering.
Often, Europe’s best and brightest—and frustrated—are migrating to greater opportunities and freedom in the U.S., further hampering European research and development.
Europe foolishly adopted a self-defeating energy policy to achieve net-zero emissions by subsidizing inefficient wind and solar power while ignoring or shutting down far cheaper natural gas, nuclear, and coal-powered electrical generation.
Meanwhile, China, grinning like a Cheshire cat and caring little about its carbon footprint, is eagerly exporting wind and solar systems to the suicidal West.
Yet China itself is busy building about two massive coal-fired plants a month, and the largest and most environmentally disruptive hydroelectric projects in the world.
No wonder average European electricity costs are even steeper than those in failing California. European consumers often cannot afford to turn their heaters and air conditioners on, while businesses cannot compete with industries abroad that enjoy far cheaper power.
Donald Trump has declared that the 80-year postwar order is calcified and that the US will no longer run huge trading deficits with European Union nations. Instead, it will demand symmetrical tariffs, further challenging past European mercantile profitability.
The days of Europe disarming and relying on the United States for defense are also over, given that Vladimir Putin, for the third time in 15 years, invaded a neighboring country.
Yet Ukraine is not Chechnya or Georgia, but instead on the doorstep of Europe.
So in panic, a perennially delinquent NATO is not only promising to spend the required 2 percent of GDP on defense but also increasing arms budgets to 5 percent of GDP, a higher rate even than that of the US.
No one knows how Europeans will afford such massive rearmament.
To do so would require opening up their economies, adopting far more flexible and traditional energy policies, securing their borders, ending illegal immigration, pruning the welfare state, increasing their fertility rates, and dropping the DEI salad bowl while re-embracing the melting pot of integration and acculturation.
We will soon see whether Europeans can adopt such needed reforms, or find the necessary medicine worse than their current crippling continental disease.
[NYPOST] California ''First Partner'' Jennifer Siebel Newsom making bank off her husband's position is outrageous — and fresh proof that American politicians have gotten far too comfortable with the dirty dealing that pervades politics.
The Post reported Thursday that Siebel Newsom's nonprofit, Representation Project, pays her a hefty $150,000 — while raking in donations from companies that have an interest in winning the favor of her husband, California Gov. Gavin Governor Hair Gel Newsom ...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland... AT&T, which has spent upward of $2 million to lobby the state on landline phone rules so far this year, forked over up to $25,000 for Representation Project's ''Flip the Script'' gala.
Comcast, AT&T's competitor, and PG&E have donated similar amounts to fund the swanky event, which seems to be used as an excuse to butter up the gov's pals; last year's gala honored philanthropist Roselyne Swig, whose family has donated more than $100,000 to Gavin's political career over the years.
Oh, and Representation Project's No. 1 independent contractor is Girls Club Entertainment LLC, a for-profit production company... also run by Siegel Newsom.
The LLC billed Representation Project for $150,000 in ''writer/producer/director'' services in 2024.
If that weren't enough pocket-lining, Siebel licenses her lefty documentaries, like her 2015 film about masculinity (eye-rolling title: ''The Mask You Live In'') to the state's public schools.
Her job title might be ''documentary filmmaker,'' but it sure looks like what she's pulling the big bucks simple for being Mrs. Newsom.
Such incestuous gorging at the public trough is grotesque, yet the Newsoms don't even try hide it — because in-your-face beak-wetting is so yawn-inducingly normal in the political world they live in.
Think of Hunter Biden using his dad's position as vice president, then president, to land high-paying, unearned positions and hawk his art.
Or the wealthy Clinton Foundation donors who scored government favors during Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state.
A few pols who go to extremes may face consequences, as taking literal gold bars as bribes finally sank Sen. Bob Menendez... in his second federal corruption trial.
And, yes, you can absolutely find blatant outrages on the Republican side of the aisle. Like Dennis Hastert...
Indeed, that blatant pay-to-play and palm-greasing is the rule all across our politics — such that Democrats' most likely 2028 nominee is shameless about it — should be lasting caution for caution:
Whenever anyone says the government should fix some problem, remember that the fixers will be using it as an excuse to line their own pockets.
[NYPOST] Illinois' Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker said the state ''will not stand idly by'' if President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... makes good on his threat to deploy the National Guard to reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... to respond to crime in the Windy City.
''Unlike Donald Trump, we keep our promises,'' the governor wrote Wednesday on X. ''We will not stand idly by if he decides to send the National Guard to intimidate Chicagoans.''
''Action will be met with a response,'' he continued.
Pritzker's comments are just the latest in his recent feud with Trump, as the federal government weighs whether to send troops to Chicago.
Last week, the governor said there is no crime emergency in Chicago and Trump is ''attempting to manufacture a crisis, politicize Americans who serve in uniform, and continue abusing his power to distract from the pain he is causing working families.''
''The safety of the people of Illinois is always my top priority,'' Pritzker said on Saturday. ''There is no emergency that warrants the President of the United States federalizing the Illinois National Guard, deploying the National Guard from other states, or sending active duty military within our own borders. We will continue to follow the law, stand up for the illusory sovereignty of our state, and protect the people of Illinois.''
[NYPOST] President Trump's takeover of Washington, DC, has led to ICE agents picking up child sex offenders, a Tren de Aragua gangbanger and numerous other criminals who were previously free on the streets of the nation's capital, The Post has learned.
''President Trump was clear: he will make D.C. safe and beautiful again,'' a senior Department of Homeland Security official told The Post.
The official added: ''ICE and CBP continue to arrest and remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens— We will support the re-establishment of law and order and public safety, so Americans can feel safe enjoying the beauty and history of our nation's capital.''
Feds nabbed Mexican migrant David Perez-Teofani, who was previously charged with aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of 13 and felony indecent liberties-proposed sex acts, according to DHS.
Tren de Aragua gangbanger Wilker Patino-Solis was caught after he was previously arrested for felony robbery. He also had four previous encounters with federal immigration authorities.
Salvadoran migrant Mario Marquez-Garcia had a rap sheet that included previous arrests for DUI, aggravated assault on a cop with a weapon, assault, robbery, failure to appear and violation of a court order. He also had eight previous encounters with the feds.
The nation's capital saw an unprecedented 12-day streak without a murder Tuesday. And crime stats have been down since Trump stepped in.
In the last 14 days, total crime dropped 11% citywide, with sharp reductions across the board including robberies (-42%), assaults with a deadly weapon (-13%), carjacking (-85%), car theft (-24%), violent mostly peaceful crime (-25%) and property crime (-10%), the DC Police Union said in an X post Monday.
The city's Democratic mayor acknowledged the results on Wednesday.
''We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,'' said DC Mayor Muriel Bowser in a Wednesday presser.
''The difference between this 20-day period of this federal surge and last year represents a 87% reduction in carjackings,'' Bowser noted, later posting the full stats on her X account.
''We know that when carjackings go down, when use of gun goes down, when homicide or robbery go down, neighborhoods feel safer and are safer,'' the mayor said.
Washington has long been one of America's most violent mostly peaceful major cities — with a murder rate that surpasses reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... and is nearly seven times higher than New York City.
