Just a funny story...

How awful, badanov. Please say it’s not a true story.

I saw my dog biting our neighbor's rabbit. It was already dead and dirty, but there was no blood. So I washed it and quietly put it back in the neighbor's cage. A little later, my neighbor suddenly screamed loudly. I went over and pretended to ask, "What happened, sis?" She replied, "We already buried this rabbit earlier, why is it back in the cage!"

That’s always a painful decision, Skidmark, though I’ve never had anything more difficult than cats and guinea pigs.

I need GOBOY's db password to connect. also IP address.
Fred- 08/03/2025 16:10
|
Fred: pgadmin is setup.
sudo also is set up, with you being one of the sudoes
The data table in the base db are owned by GOBOY, but I fail to see how that will have much of a bearing on administering the db from remote.

Similarly, on Attempts to read a property which includes a NULL value the solution is identical, allow the php engine the knowledge of a potential NULL value being read into a key, and act accordingly.

Fred: Especially as it applies to comment, the code within poparticle.php complains about strlen(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string
Google AI showed a solution which works:
$length = strlen($myVariable ?? '');

I use pgadmin4.

I won’t roll it over tonight, then. If Fred still wants it we can do so in the morning.

No clue. The money went to Fred.
I intended to end the fundraiser today.

badanov: have we raised enough money, or do we need to roll over the announcement/bleg for another day?

Slowly debugging the php scripts. Right now the main problem is variables and how php 8.3 handles them. php has changed and as it matures, it will be much less forgiving in how variables are handled.
The biggest problem at the moment is the CAPTCHA scripts not working. In most other respects, the scripts mods use to post articles, and comments are working
I am a bit ahead of schedule in installing and readying the server, but I have many tasks ahead to commplete before the websites goes into production, such as testing.

Fred: I nend the name of the program you use to monitor postgresql database, so I can install it.
badanov- 08/02/2025 17:42
|
The error showing was: pg_query(): Automatic fetching of PostgreSQL connection is deprecated
Which means database connection is no longer assumed in fetch operations; it has to be specifically set.
badanov- 08/02/2025 09:52
|
Fred: Things to note:
In FreeBSD's pg version, it has been necessary to add an addition parameter in pg_query as: pg_query($pgconnection,$ssl); in order to get it stop stop throwing errors.
I suspect every php file will have to be altered.

Fred: two things, please.
1. There’s an article in Hoover that could use your insights. It looks like it might be important, but I’m not qualified to judge.
2. I’d like to take you up on instructions for doing the Bloid, as you offered a while ago. I think some of the mods might enjoy helping with that on the days when you are busy with other things.
Thank you!
