[Inquirer] Three Maute terrorist camps in Butig, Lanao del Sur, have been overrun by Philippine military forces. Military spokesman Restituto Padilla said the encampments were in the same areas hit by the air strike by the Philippine Air Force last week.
Padilla said the camps were harboring both local and foreign terrorists. He said 15 Maute militants were killed and eight others were injured, including its leader Isnilon Hapilon.

[SunStar] Two children were killed and three others were injured in a roadside bombing in a remote village in Basilan province which authorities blamed on the Abu Sayyaf.
Wesmincom chief Carlito Galvez said the blast happened late Sunday morning in the village of Danapah, Al-Barka. He said the children were playing outdoors when they accidentally tripped on the improvised bomb that was placed on a frequently used trail in the area. Galvez said the victims were rushed to the hospital but two of them died. The two children that were killed were two and five years old.
Galvez said the improvised bomb was placed by Abu Sayyaf militants to spread fear among local residents. He said, "This horrendous act perpetrated by the Abu Sayyaf goes beyond savagery and stressed that victimizing innocent civilians especially children is simply unacceptable."
