intelligence sharing with indonesia could also compromise the five eyes. The US is far more important to Australia than Indonesia is - they are our only security guarantee

In that case i am emigrating. Indonesians get on social media a lot and brag how their military is stronger than ours and they have invaded 2 countries in the archipelago since 1960

Procopius, not sure what you mean... Australia and US have a treaty alliance, that's what i was counting on. And yes we are both English speaking nations that share western cultural kinship and that does mean a lot...
When do you declare a point of no return? The burning of Baltimore might appear in future history texts as the turning-point in America's fortunes. Six years after the election of America's first African-American president, the prospects of black Americans seem bleaker than at any time since the First World War, when the great migration began from the cotton-fields of the South to the factories of the North.
Nearly three quarters of black children are born outside of marriage, which means that the vast majority of black children are raised by single parents. Black women, meanwhile, are carrying the economic burden of their families more than men. Roughly 3 black women are employed full time for every 2 black men (for American whites, the ratio is 3:2 in favor of men).
It is hard to blame racism for this discrepancy: why should there be less discrimination against female black job applications than against male job applicants? Two-thirds of Bachelor's degrees awarded to African-Americans, moreover, go to women. No people in the history of the world has managed to raise and educate children without a father's contribution to family income. Where are the black men? For every 100 black adult women not in jail, the New York Times reports, there are only 83 black men. The missing 17% are dead or in jail.
The reason that so many black men are in jail is because they have committed crimes. There is an argument, to be sure, that many black men are incarcerated for "non-violent" crimes such as selling illegal drugs; the counterargument is that the drug business is inherently violent, and that it is easier to catch a miscreant selling drugs than to catch him in the act of shooting a rival. In any case, America's higher incarceration rate has coincided with a drastic drop in the incidence of violent crime. Statisticians will argue ad infinitum about causality, but a common-sense reading of the data tells us that there is less crime because more violent offenders are in jail.
The criminal justice system has contained crime in America, at dreadful cost: One in 87 white men of working age is incarcerated, vs. 1 in 36 Hispanic men and 1 in 12 African American men. There are more African American men aged 20 to 34 without a high school diploma or GED are behind bars (37 percent) than are employed (26 percent).
It is nonsense to suggest that police violence has much impact on the big picture: 94% of black murder victims are killed by blacks. Black men have a 1 in 21 chance of being murdered, vs. 1 in 131 for white men.
No matter what anyone does, things will get worse before they get better. Never in his history has the United States spent so much to support a nonworking population. As Nicholas Eberstadt observed in his 2012 book "A Nation of Takers," one out of every three American households has at least one person receiving some kind of means-tested government payment.
If African-American rage takes the form of arson on a mass scale--after the election of a black president--there is no apparent solution. It is merely a symptom of American decline.

Voted nearly 100% for liberal Demonstrates for years. Where are the Asian riots. Where are the Irish riots. Arrest rates are higher for whites. This is Liberal Democrats in decline. The conservative Democrat has no place to go these days. Soon it looks like the same thing is going to happen to conservative Republicans. Conservatism works every time. Mix that with capitalism and you have a winner. Putin is doing this mix now. This slavery business is a canard. The largest slave owner in the south was a black woman and she had political clout. When slaves were given their freedom many went on to own slaves themselves. History is written by the winners.

Written by someone who wasn't around in '68. Of course today's Lefties have no history, why else would they keep repeating the same mistakes associated with socialism and redistributionism. As for the 'community' they sold their souls not for freedom to succeed or fail, but the velvet covered chains of socialist servitude and false promises of a utopia of unearned entitlements.

Not to be confused with immigrant Germans who fled their countries to avoid the Prussian inspired military drafts only to find themselves on New York piers enroute to the Union Army. There was nearly an entire corps of the Army of the Potomac made up of these poor chaps. Most of them didn't speak the language either.

Quite right P2k, but we came by the practice honestly. Perfidious Albion has long used.... OPS (other people soldiers), to include the Germans, Scots, and the Irish.

This needs to be the lead subtopic in this article, get it aired out and out of the way. All racis' talk, anyway.

Read a news report once and a cop more or less pointed to a wall that showed mugshots. He said these are the bad ones in our town, when they are in jail all is quiet, when they are out we are busy. I suspect every town has a similar issue they just won't talk about it.

In my humble opinion I believe this is but the spring freshet that precedes the flood.I believe marching orders are given for the rabble and stand down orders for law enforcement. Any city like Baltimore is prime for this activity.
When Obama makes his executive order for his undocumented aliens I view him as an undocumented alien. Why allow so many in. I believe it is for power but looking at the birth rate decline perhaps it is; shall I say, a baby boomer surge. His end game is to hold onto power. So fire up his base. Shackle law enforcement. Then say in September things should be in a good mess then declare martial law. This should occur in October at the latest. His mind works as an Arab. I believe them to be more of a superstitious people than a religious people. So they will follow dates as they have in the past when they make their moves. My two cents.I am a future thinker.

Compare CNN AM "ANDERSON COOPER 360" INTERVIEW > BALTIMORE COMMUNITY ACTIVIST MELECH THOMAS = gave kudos to the Bloods, Crips, + Other City Orgs for their efforts to keep the peace during the on-going protest march.
FYI a number of Balt Protestors including High-Profile Personages were seen on CNN claiming that they will ignore the new mandatory curfew.
VERSUS
* FYI FREEREPUBLIC, DRUDGEREPORT > NEW BLACK PANTHER LEADER: WE ARE "WILLING TO KILL" FOR A BLACK NATION.

I'm going to warn you up front that this story has a certain "inside baseball" aspect, and if you're not interested in science fiction, science fiction publishing, and the ongoing culture wars, this is probably not going to interest you.
Still here? Good.
The "Hugos" are widely called the most prestigious awards in the world of science fiction and fantasy publishing. They are awarded every year by a vote of the membership of the World Science Fiction Convention, which SF fans have called "Worldcon" since time immemorial.
Starting three years ago, Larry Correia, successful science fiction writer, decided to test his suspicion that the Hugo Awards of the World Science Fiction Society were increasingly being awarded through the action of a small group, and increasingly reflect the tastes of that small group rather than a more general population of science fiction readers.
...Correia's experimental method was to publish a list of suggested nominees for the Hugo Awards that he thought wouldn't otherwise get serious consideration. He repeated the exercise a year ago, and then this year Brad Torgersen continued with a new list of suggested nominees.
Only, this year, a lot of those suggested nominees were actually nominated. At which point all hell broke loose.
It would take a lot more room than I want to give it to give all the examples, but what was most notable was a sudden outbreak of stories in more mainstream media that probably were best exemplified by the headline in Entertainment Weekly:
Hugo Award nominations fall victim to misogynistic, racist voting campaign
...Very very similar articles came out in many different places, all of them nearly simultaneously.
It would seem someone hit a nerve. The whole story, you can get more details from Sarah Hoyt's and/or Larry Correia sites, confirms my opinion that left-wing politics are: first & foremost a conspiracy by second rate people (in any area of endeavor) to secure all the first rate jobs for themselves. That's why they're apparatchiks and nomenklatura...
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
