[ALMASDARNEWS] al-Masdar News has obtained the first official Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... video from Marawi, an embattled city in the southern Philippines which witnessed a large-scale ISIS uprising last week, prompting Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte to initiate a 60-day state of emergency in the province of Lanao.
Amaq Agency released footage showing Death Eaters from Maute and Abu Sayyaf ...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder... , two jihadist groups which have pledged allegiance to Islamic State leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us... , in action against the Philippine Army across the predominately Sunni city.
Two consecutive ambushes have been conducted on armored vehicles since ISIS launched its insurgency, one of which was shown in the video. Dead government troops were still lying inside the vehicle.
At least 89 ISIS members have been killed since the battle began on May 22, wiping out roughly 20% of its fighting force. Meanwhile, ...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck and Manuel's rivalry was entering a new and more dangerous phase... the Philippine Army has sustained well above 100 casualties during its bid to retake the largely Moslem city.
For instance, a Philippine bomber plane accidentally killed 11 government soldiers and injured seven others, security officials said Thursday.
Concerning images have also emerged showing forced conversation of the city’s Christian population. Around 200,000 people lived in Marawi before festivities began. However, a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... over 90% have fled due to the fighting already.

[Mirror] A gunman who stormed a casino in the Philippines sparking a stampede which injured 30 people has killed himself, police said. The suspect was found dead from a gunshot wound which appears to be self-inflicted, authorities in Manila said.
The dramatic incident began with reports of gunfire and smoke coming from the Resorts World complex just after midnight local time.
The gunman was wielding an automatic gun but did not shoot at anyone, police said. He stole casino chips, shot at TV screens and then set some of the casino tables on fire.
Nonetheless, it sparked mass panic with people suffering serious injuries in the ensuing stampede. Some even jumped from windows, according to reports.
The Philippines has been battling a rising number of ISIS Lions of Islam in the south of the country and there were fears of a terror attack.
One message online appeared to claim responsibility for the attack on behalf of ISIS.
National police chief Ronald dela Rosa went on the radio to tell the public: "Don't panic, this is not a cause for alarm.
"We cannot attribute this to terrorism.
"We are looking into a robbery angle because he did not hurt any people and went straight to the casino chips storage room.
"He parked at the second floor and barged into the casino, shooting large TV screens and poured gasoline on a table setting it on fire," he said.
Military front man Restituto Padilla confirmed police were in control of the situation and the army was monitoring closely. Police, fire trucks and SWAT teams were called to the area, near Manila International airport, after smoke began billowing from the upper floor of the building.
Louisse Linan tweeted that Naia terminal 3 at the Manila International Airport was also in lockdown because of the incident at the nearby tourist complex.
Speaking outside the White House, US president Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... said he was staying updated on the attack in Manila.
He said: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people. It's very sad what's happening with terrorism around the world."

[NPR] More than a week after ISIS-linked rebels seized Marawi, the Philippine military suffered a blow in its bid to retake the city: The country's defense secretary, Delfin Lorenzana, announced Thursday that an errant airstrike killed at least ten Philippine soldiers, wounding seven others.
"A group of our military army men were hit by our own airstrikes. The coordination was not properly done so we hit our own people," Lorenzana said in a text message.
Reuters reported the incident occurred "during the first offensive deployment of fixed-wing aircraft in the operation" against the Maute militants, who have pledged their loyalty to the Islamic State.
Shortly after the situation in Marawi descended into chaos, Philippine President Duterte declared martial law on Mindanao, suggesting he might soon broaden that emergency status nationwide. At a press conference last week, Duterte said, "If I think you should die, you will die. If you fight us, you will die. If there's an open defiance, you will die. And if it means many people dying, so be it. That's how it is."
From the outskirts of Marawi City, Al Jazeera reported, "Since the Philippine government announced martial law, there have been relentless air strikes, 'surgical air strikes' as the Philippine military described it. There have been organisations and civilians here who have been asking the government to stop the air strikes, simply because of the danger they pose for civilians."
Military spokesman Restituto Padilla said Thursday that the Philippine military does not intend to halt airstrikes after the incident, citing the need to combat enemy snipers in the city.
