’s Batur Dostum in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan.

Sources close to Batur Dostum confirmed that he has escaped unhurt from the ambush laid by the snuffies loyal to Taliban

commander'>Taliban Überstürmbannführer
Mullah Jabar.

The sources further added that the Dostum was travelling on Aqcha highway when the incident took place and as a result two Taliban Lions of Islam were killed.

The sources also added that the several Taliban Lions of Islam were also maimed after the security guards of Dostum responded to the attack.

The deputy commander of Shebarghan Garrison Samad Rahmani confirmed the incident and the killing of two Taliban Lions of Islam during the festivities.

He said the Afghan cops also confiscated some weapons left behind the Taliban hard boys.

The anti-government armed myrmidon groups including Taliban Lions of Islam have not commented regarding the report so far.

Jawzjan is among the relatively volatile provinces in North of Afghanistan where both the Taliban and ISIS snuffies are actively operating in some of its remote districts.

7 dead in suicide bombing targeting gathering of clerics in Kabul
[DAWN] A suicide kaboom targeted a gathering of Afghanistan’s top holy mans on Monday in Kabul, killing at least seven people and wounding nine, the police said.

Shortly before the attack struck, the holy mans had issued a fatwa against suicide kabooms and urged peace talks to end the Afghan war.
That worked well.
Ghafor Aziz, police chief of Kabul’s 5th District, said the bomber detonated his explosives near the entrance of a compound where the religious body, known as the Afghan Ulema Council, was meeting under the traditional tent of the Loya Jirga, the council of elders.

No one immediately grabbed credit for the attack.

Initially, four people were reported killed but the police very soon raised the corpse count to seven and said that nine people were maimed. It was not immediately clear how many of the holy mans were among those killed.

Aziz added that had the attacker penetrated deeper, the casualty numbers could have been significantly higher.

Around 2,000 members of the council had gathered for the meeting at the tent erected in the Afghan capital’s 5th District. The kaboom struck as the council was ending and the participants were about to leave, Aziz also said.

Shortly before the attack, the holy mans had issued a fatwa, declaring that suicide kabooms are "haram" ‐ forbidden under Islamic law.

The council appealed on both the Afghan government forces and the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
and other murderous Moslems to halt the fighting and agree on a cease-fire. It also called for peace negotiations between the two sides. It was the first time the council has issued such an appeal.

Less than an hour before the attack happened, Ghofranullah Murad, a member of the council, read out a written statement from the gathering saying that innocent Afghan men, women and kiddies are the true victims of war.

Taliban rejects involvement in the attack on religious scholars in Kabul

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs group in Afghanistan rejected the involvement of the group in the attack on religious scholars gathering in Kabul city.

Taliban
...Arabic for students...
front man Zabiullah Mujahid issued a statement after the attack, saying the group has no links with the kaboom in Polytechnic University.

The Kabul police commandment officials confirm that 7 people were killed and at least nine others were maimed in a suicide kaboom in Kabul city today.

A front man for the Kabul police commandment Hashmat Stanikzai said at least seven people including a policeman were killed and nine others were maimed.

Stanikzai further added that two coppers were among those maimed in the attack.

Acccording to Stanikzai, the incident took place at around 11:30 am local time after a jacket wallah detonated his explosives near the entrance of Loya Jirga camp where a large gathering was underway.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
another security official says at least 14 people were killed and 17 others were maimed in the attack.

fighters have been killed in an anti-Al-Shabaab operation in al-Madow Mountains, Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
Puntland Security Forces said in a statement on Saturday.

"Puntland Security Forces (PSF) carried out an anti-Al-Shabaab operation in Maraje area in al-Madow Mountains in response to an overnight attack against Puntland’s PMPF army base," PSF said in a statement.

"41 al-Shabaab bad boyz were potted during the Saturday’s operation in the Maraje area," the statement added.

On Saturday, at least five Puntland soldiers died after al-Shabaab bully boyz attacked an army base in Bali-Khadar area in Galgala Mountains, military sources told Radio Shabelle.

a terrorist on Sunday and said he was "very dangerous."

They also arrested three of his aides, who had protected him during his hiding in Mount Goubellat, northwestern Tunisia.

"This is a great achievement on the media and execution level," the sources said.

Sufian al-Sulaiti, a front man for Tunisia's counter-terrorism apparatus, revealed a number of data on the operation.

He said that the Tunisian terrorist called Ibrahim al-Riyahi, 31, was involved in various dangerous terrorist acts, adding that several arrest warrants were issued against him.

With regard to the details of this successful security operation, Sulaiti said that it was "the outcome of a pre-emptive operation" that was successfully planned.

The terrorist was ambushed with the help of intelligence information.

He stressed that all stages of this process have been conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecution in the judicial counter-terrorism apparatus.

In order to confirm the importance of the achievement of the counter-terrorism team and the information it will provide them on a number of previous terrorist operations, Sulaiti pointed out that they have launched security investigations few hours after the arrest of the terrorist, who has been involved in terrorist crimes since 2013, along with his three assistants

Clashes in Libya's Derna got intense as Haftar's forces push meters closer to city center
[Libya Observer] Fighting for Derna city in eastern Libya between the slef-styled army of Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
and Derna Security Force got more intense on Monday amid artillery fire and Arclight airstrikes.

Sources from the city reported "the most violent" fighting in Sahel Sahrqi neighborhood as Haftar's forces approached closer to the blocks inside the neighborhood under air and artillery cover.

Pro-Haftar military media posted photos of vehicles entering the neighborhood, where deaths and injuries on both sides were reported.

Meanwhile,
...back at the precinct house, Don Calamari's lawyer was getting even redder in the face...
despite the fact that Haftar's command confirmed they controlled Sahel Sharqi and Shiha areas in Derna, the city Security Force refuted their claim.

"We attacked Derna Security Force fighters in the city port." Haftar's command says, while local news operators say Haftar's forces now control those two areas up to Derna port from which the city fighters withdrew into downtown Derna.

"Next is liberating Derna operation." Haftar said in a statement posted by his command's media office on Monday afternoon.

Mozambique Says Its Security Forces Killed 9 Al-Shabab-Linked Militants
[RADIOSHABELLE] Mozambique’s Defense and Security Forces (FDS) have killed 9 members of an alleged al-Shabaab

group.

The members were eliminated in the district of Palma in the northernmost province of Cabo Delgado

An official who spoke on behalf of FDS has said the soldiers acting on tips off ambushed the eight.

"At the site where the nine members of the radical Islamist group were killed, an AK47 gun and machetes they used to behead people were found," said one FDS member.

According to the police source who was involved in the hunting mission, more information could be officially published within days.

"This group was thought to be in the riverside areas where they can have access to water for personal consumption and hygiene," he said.

The members are from the self-proclaimed al-Shabaab group, which has been launching sporadic attacks against police and civilians since last October, causing terror and displacement in several districts of Cabo Delgado.

Late last, the group attacked villages and beheaded 10 people in northern Mozambique.

Children are reported to be among those targeted in the attack on Monjane village in Cabo Delgado province, a hub for mining and petroleum exploration.

Known locally as al-Shabaab, the group was formed in 2015 as a religious organization and has no known links to the al-Shabaab group based in Eastern Africa.

Britain
Teenager, Linked to ISIS, Guilty of Plotting Attack on London Museum
[AAWSAT] A teenager was found guilty of Monday of planning an attack on London’s British Museum as part of an ISIS plot, police and prosecutors said.

Safaa Boular,
...who we first encountered last month at her trial...
18, plotted the grenade and gun attack in her home town after the authorities intervened to stop her travelling to Syria to marry an ISIS fighter she had met online.

Her mother and sister admitted helping her, making the case Britannia's first involving an all-female cell of ISIS group-inspired plotters.

Boular is the youngest female to be charged with planning an ISIS attack in Britannia.

She was only 16 when she made contact with British-born ISIS fighter Naweed Hussain, 32, discussing marriage and how they would don his-and-hers suicide belts.

But her hopes of joining him were dashed when she was stopped at the airport in August 2016 following a family trip to Morocco, and her passport was confiscated.

Instead Boular decided to plan an attack in Britannia, detailing it in coded language -- grenades were "pineapples" -- to online contacts who were in fact undercover agents.

Hussain was later killed in a dronezap.

When Boular was charged with preparing terrorist acts in April 2017, she passed the baton to her sister Rizlaine, 22, and their mother Mina Dich, 44, who hatched their own plan.

The trio were taped talking about an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party, which the prosecution argued was code for an attack.

Rizlaine and her mother were tossed in the calaboose
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
after being tracked by police visiting potential sites around Westminster and buying knives.

They pleaded guilty to terror offences, along with a fourth woman, Rizlaine's friend Khawla Barghouthi, 21, who later admitted failing to alert the authorities.

Safaa Boular denied the plot but was found guilty on Monday after a trial.

Dean Haydon, Britannia's top counter-terror police officer, said the plot "involved a family with murderous intent, the first all-female terrorist plot in the UK connected to ISIS."

He added: "All three women were filled with hate and toxic ideology and were determined to carry out a terrorist attack.

"Had they been successful, it could well have resulted in people being killed or seriously injured."

At least two PTM workers killed in South Waziristan 'militant attack'
[DAWN] At least four people, including two activists of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), were killed and dozens of others injured in a murderous Moslem attack in South Wazoo agency's headquarters of Wana on Sunday, sources said.

Sources told DawnNewsTV that the gunnies targeted a PTM rally that was organised to welcome one of the movement’s leaders, Ali Wazir.

PTM leader Mohsin Dawar confirmed the incident, saying the gunnies opened indiscriminate fire at the rally, killing and injuring a number of PTM supporters.

While quoting reports received from Wana so far, he said four PTM supporters have been killed and dozens injured in the incident.

"Our workers are busy in shifting the injured to the hospital," Dawar said, adding that they are trying to obtain more information.

A local source told DawnNewsTV that two PTM workers and as many local residents were killed in the firing incident. He added that the number of deaths may rise as several of the injured are in a critical condition. The numbers could not be immediately verified by officials.

According to AFP, supporters of PTM, which is led by young activist Manzoor Pashteen, wanted to hold a rally to protest against growing corruption in the tribal regions.

"The clash erupted after supporters of Manzoor Pashteen were stopped from holding a protest rally by local gunnies belonging to Maulvi Nazir group," a senior local administration official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The Pashtun activists torched two offices of the murderous Moslems, which led to an exchange of fire, killing two people and wounding 25 others, the official said.

The local administration immediately imposed a curfew on the area to control the fast deteriorating situation, a local intelligence official, who confirmed the incident and casualties, told AFP.

Another official said efforts were underway to bring the situation under control, adding the local administration was holding talks with the "two parties".

10 Months after Regaining Mosul, Hunt for Bodies Goes On
[AAWSAT] Atop an enormous mound of rubble under blistering sun in Iraq's second city djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, fire crews and police chip away at a grim but vital task.

Some 10 months after dislodging ISIS, they are still extracting bodies from the ruins of the shattered Old City.

"Over three days, 763 bodies have been pulled from the rubble and buried," Lieutenant Colonel Rabie Ibrahim tells Agence La Belle France Presse.

Despite the overpowering stench, the men work relentlessly, braving unwent kaboom! munitions in an area devastated by the nine-month battle.

"The operations will continue until all the corpses are extracted" from the heart of the city, Ibrahim says.

Civilians' bodies that can be identified are handed to their families, while the remains of ISIS combatants are buried in a mass grave on the western outskirts of Mosul.

Some of the putrified corpses are sent to Nineveh province's health services, Ibrahim adds.

The workers, their faces covered with masks or scarves, move with great caution.

The bodies of Lions of Islam are sometimes still clad in suicide belts.

Grenades, homemade bombs and other crude contraptions left by ISIS fighters during their retreat to Syria pose a constant threat.

The improvised boobytraps are hidden under multiple layers and obstacles -- the rubble of collapsed homes, disemboweled furniture and uprooted trees, in some places subsiding into the waters of the Tigris that meander murkily below.

Where a maze of cobbled streets was once lined with homes and market stalls, there is now a formless mess populated by stray animals, insects and disease.

The destruction is so great that some residents cannot pinpoint the remnants of their homes or even their street as they try to direct salvage workers to the remains of loved ones.

The rubble makes it impossible to bring in heavy construction machinery, says General Hossam Khalil, who leads Nineveh province's civil defense force.

His men therefore have to rely on smaller vehicles, but Mosul "only has a few," he says.

There is a pressure to work as quickly as conditions will allow: residents are exhausted by three years of ISIS rule, nine months of brutal urban combat and now the slow pace of reconstruction.

"But it's impossible, with this stench, this pollution and the epidemics they can cause," says Othmane Saad, an unemployed 40-year-old whose home in the old city is entirely destroyed.

Another resident, 33-year-old Abu Adel, wants the authorities "to clear all the corpses as quickly as possible" and to "compensate residents so they can rebuild, then establish public services".

But the task is titanic.

Since Mosul was retaken in July, "2,838 bodies, including 600 ISIS members, have been retrieved from the rubble," governor Naufel Sultane tells AFP.

Even after the corpses are taken away and buried, they leave harmful bacteria which the Tigris can carry far beyond the old city.

The authorities insist drinking water stations are unaffected and that they pump water from the Tigris' central depths, avoiding the banks and other shallows.

But gastroenterologist Ahmed Ibrahim advises caution.

"You must boil water before drinking it and don't use river water, either for bathing or washing," he tells AFP.

Birds and fish "can carry typhus, bilharzia and gastroenteritis," he adds.

1,300 bodies of Islamic State members found in Mosul

Mosul (Iraqinews.com) – As many as 1,300 bodies of Islamic State (IS) members were found in Mosul city since Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced its liberation last year.

“Most of the bodies were belonging to IS leaders and security officials, who were killed at the hands of Iraqi servicemen during a security operation to liberate Mosul city from terrorism,” Colonel Mohamed al- Bujairi told Iraqi website Al-Qurtas News Monday.

He added that the troops buried the IS bodies at remote graveyards in western Mosul.

Last month, the governor of Nineveh province announced that the Old City in Mosul has been declared to be empty of bodies under the rubble.

The total number of recovered bodies since the end of war against Islamic State in Mosul that ended more than ten months ago reached 9,000, according to municipal sources.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Beyond kites: ‘Fire balloons’ increasingly used to set southern Israel ablaze
[IsraelTimes] Total of at least 17,500 dunams ‐ nearly 7 square miles ‐ of land burned as Paleostinians repeatedly send airborne incendiary devices across border

Since the first few weeks of Gazoo’s "March of Return," young Paleostinians have been flying so-called "incendiary kites" into Israeli territory, setting fire to vast swaths of grasslands, agricultural fields and nature reserves.

More recently, however, a new arson tactic has been gaining popularity along the Gazoo border. Instead of kites, a different children’s toy is being flown into Israel: helium balloons.

The concept is the same: Launch the airborne incendiary devices into the air and rely on the breeze from the coast to push them into Israeli territory, where they can start a fire. The balloon tactic has been in use for at least a month and a half, but it has picked up in recent weeks.

In total, approximately 17,500 dunams (4,300 acres, or nearly seven square miles) of land have been burned in more than 250 fires over the past two months, more than half of it in nature reserves, according to initial assessments.

Authorities have yet to determine how many of the fires were started by kites and how many by balloons. "Kite terror" has become a catch-all term for the phenomenon.

As of Monday, there have been no injuries caused by the fires, but the cost of the damage is high and expected to increase, as there’s no sign that Paleostinians in Gazoo are giving up on the arson tactic.

The blazes, specifically those in nature reserves, have also wreaked havoc on local wildlife, ecologists say. And there are more fires every day.

The balloons themselves do not cause the fires ‐ helium is an inert gas ‐ but they carry flaming material attached to a long string. In some cases, just a few party balloons are used. In others, it is a larger cluster of latex balloons, capable of carrying far more substantial incendiary devices.

As with the kites, the Israeli military has yet to come up with a response to this threat. A pilot program using drones to take down the incoming kites and balloons was deemed a failure, Israel’s Kan TV reported Saturday night.

For now, Israel’s primary means of combating these airborne Molotov cocktails remains preparedness and a rapid response when blazes do break out. Authorities, as well as individual farmers, monitor the area and when an incoming kite or balloon is spotted, they rush to the scene in order to put out the fire before it spreads. Farmers use tractors to dig up the area around the fire in order to starve out the flames until firefighters can arrive to put out the blaze entirely.

They are not always successful. Some 10,000 dunams (2,470 acres) of parks and nature reserves have been burned in recent weeks, according to a spokesperson for the Nature and Parks Authority, who stressed that the authority did not yet have definitive evidence that all of the fires were caused by kites or balloons. Over 5,000 dunams (1,235 acres) of farmland has been burned, most of it wheat fields, according to the Tax Authority, which is processing compensation requests from area farmers.

Driving through the area, it is rare to see a field or patch of trees that does not have at least one blotch of scorched earth from one of the fires sparked by a kite or balloon.

In addition, approximately 2,500 dunams (620 acres) of Jewish National Fund forests was burned, a spokesperson for the organization said, adding that the JNF would complete its final assessment of the damage on Tuesday. The Tax Authority said there have been no requests for compensation made by the JNF or the Nature and Parks Authority yet.

The Tax Authority estimates that the damage to farmland alone will cost at least NIS 5 million ($1.4 million), to be paid from the government’s fund for damage caused by terrorist activity.
Another Times of Israel article adds:
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said 600 flaming kites have been flown toward Israel since the start of the violent "March of Return" protests in late March. He says 400 were intercepted and 200 landed in Israeli territory, sparking 198 fires and burning 9,000 dunams of farmland and forests.

Kahlon: Gaza-area farmers to immediately get 50% of damages from ‘kite terror’

[IsraelTimes] Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon says his office will "immediately" give Gazoo-area farmers 50 percent of the estimated costs in damages to their fields caused by flaming kites flown toward Israel from the Gazoo Strip.

"Already last month, when the phenomenon of flaming kites began I went to the Gazoo area and declared that the State of Israel recognizes the phenomenon as terror for all intents and purposes and the residents will be compensated up to the last shekel," he says at the faction meeting of his Kulanu party.

Kahlon says 25 claims have been filed, which relate to damage to 5,000 dunams of wheat fields, orchards and irrigation systems.

"In order to make it easier for the farmers to get through this difficult period, we decided today to grant advances of 50% of the estimated cost of damages and the rest will be dealt with as quickly as possible without delays," Kahlon says.

IDF: Gazan armed with ax shot dead while trying to breach fence
[IsraelTimes] Second man maimed as soldiers open fire on Paleostinians attempting to infiltrate into Israel from southern Gazoo

A Gazook man armed with an ax was killed and another man was injured as they tried to breach the security fence Monday, the military said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the two men approached the security fence east of Khan Younis in the southern Gazoo Strip, damaged the barrier and tried to enter Israeli territory.

"IDF troops arrived at the scene and opened fire, killing one of the terrorists," the army said.

An IDF spokesperson said the second suspect was maimed and fled back into the Gazoo Strip.

Paleostinian media identified the suspect who was killed as Ramzi Najjar, of Khan Younis. It was not immediately clear if he was closely related to Razan Najjar, a 21-year-old female paramedic from Khan Younis who was reportedly rubbed out by Israeli troops on Friday during a riot along the border.

On Sunday night, a group of Paleostinians from Gazoo breached the border fence and set fire to construction equipment inside Israel before fleeing back to the coastal enclave, the army said.

The IDF said the assailants set fire to shipping containers that belong to civilian contractors working on the security fence, damaging Israeli "security infrastructure" near the border. The army said no one was injured in the incident.

Syria Roadside Bomb Kills One Near Coalition Base
[AnNahar] A roadside kaboom killed a fighter Monday near a base in northern Syria used by American and French soldiers from the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State

group, a monitor said.

"A bomb by the side of the road went kaboom! as a military vehicle drove by on the road from Ain Issa to the Brigade 93 base" in the northern province of Raqa, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said.

Kurdish fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces, a Kurdish-Arab alliance backed by the US-led coalition, are also stationed at the base, Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said.

He was not immediately able to determine the nationality of the victim.

The SDF backed by the US-led coalition have expelled IS from much of Syria since the jihadists overran large parts of the country in 2014.

The jihadists have also faced a second offensive from Russia-backed regime troops, but still hold tiny pockets in eastern Syria.

Ottoman Turkish forces and their Syrian proxies are also active in northern Syria, as well as jihadists from a former al-Qaeda affiliate and a myriad other rebel outfits.

More than 350,000 people have been killed in Syria's war since it started in 2011 with the brutal repression of anti-government protests.

pockets near borders with Iraq.

"The international coalition jets launched Arclight airstrikes against regions in al-Desheisha village, simultaneously with shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces and the artillery of the coalition," it added.

The shelling and the confrontations, according to the observatory, "left tens of gunnies killed, while others fled the region."

On Sunday, the coalition announced launching the second phase of operations against Islamic State in al-Desheisha, east of Syria.

The operations are carried out in cooperation with SDF, the Iraqi fighter jets and the artillery located near Iraqi-Syrian borders.

(ISIS) launched a big counter-offensive in southeast Deir Ezzor, today, targeting the strategic town of Baghouz al-Tahtani, which is located along the Iraqi border.

According to reports from Deir Ezzor, ISIS launched this major counter-assault after repelling the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) attempt to seize the town of Baghouz al-Fouqani.

In addition to failing to capture Baghouz al-Fouqani, the SDF’s assault on the Islamic State stronghold of Hajjin would also fail after several repeated attempts to seize the town.

ISIS has allegedly reentered Baghouz al-Tahtani after driving back the SDF troops from Baghouz al-Fouqani this morning.

Should they retake Baghouz al-Tahtani, then they will have control over another Iraqi border-point.

Jihadist rebels attack Syrian Army positions near occupied Golan Heights
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
launched an attack on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the town of Khan ’Arnabeh this afternoon.

According to a military report, the HTS bandidos Lions of Islam fired several artillery shells from the border of the occupied Golan Heights.

In response to this jihadist attack, the Syrian Arab Army fired several missiles and artillery shells towards HTS’ positions along the occupied Golan Heights border.

No details were released regarding the location of the strikes.

A source in Damascus told al-Masdar this afternoon that the jihadist rebels often launch these types of attacks in order to provoke the Syrian Arab Army into firing artillery shells towards the border of the occupied Golan Heights.

The jihadist rebels hope that an artillery shell lands in the occupied Golan Heights because Israel will then respond by attacking the Syrian Army.

Syrian Army counter-assault eliminates scores of ISIS terrorists in east Deir Ezzor

(ISIS) forces launched a big assault in the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Saturday night, resulting in a series of intense festivities that would last for several hours.

ISIS began the attack by storming the Syrian Army’s positions at the towns of Hasarat, Jalaa, and Saiyal near the border-city of Albukamal.

According to a military source in Damascus, ISIS was able to initially capture several points inside these towns, forcing the Syrian Army troops to retreat in order to avoid being overrun.

In response to this big ISIS assault, the Syrian Army sent reinforcements from Albukamal to these three towns in a bid to recapture their lost points.

The counter-assault would prove successful for the Syrian Army, as they were able to retake all of the points they lost, while also killing scores of Islamic State terrorists.

The military source told al-Masdar that at least 20 Islamic State bad boyz were potted during the battle, while the Syrian Army lost a total of 5 soldiers.
