Two Buses With 40 Israeli Tourists Blown Up At Bulgarian Airport
At least 3 people confirmed dead.
According to BurgasInfo.com not one but two buses were blown up. Unclear if the second one was also carrying Israeli tourists.

According to Bulgarian press Sega.bg, and confirmed by other wire sources, a bus with 40 Israeli tourists was "blown up" at 5:30 pm local time at the local airport of the seaside town of Bourgas. Sega says that according to BTV "it is an assassination attempt." The bomb was located in the trunk of a white bus with Israel tourists from Israel who were en route to the seaside town of Sunny Beach according to an airport source. The mayor of the city, Dimitar Nikolov confirmed the news according to Sega.

Furthermore, according to the airport's website, an Air Via flight from Tel Aviv landed at 4:50 pm local time. The shock wave was so large it also exploded two neighboringing buses located in the arrival area of the airport. The number of casualties is currently unknown, but at least three people are dead according to the local police, with dozens wounded. Sega adds "the flames are huge with three firetrucks on the scene and seven ambulances driving out charred people."

#1  Update
7 killed in terror attack on Israeli tourists in Bulgaria
Explosion tears through Israeli tour bus at Sarafovo Airport in Burgas; over 20 people injured. Israeli mission en route to area to assist authorities. PM: This is Iran's handiwork

#2  The Times of Israel is live blogging the situation. Israel is flying out two airplanes with medical supplies. Hizb'allah says it wasn't them.

Apparently there were threats against Israeli tourists to Bulgaria in January, a warning from Iran in February about American bases in the country.

#3  Wouldn't surprise me if this turns out to be some AQ Sunni/SA offshoot fomenting aggression between Israel & Iran and making it look like Iran's doing. Result would be debilitating or eliminating one or both players in the coming struggle.

Can't believe the Persians would be this stupid and overt no matter what they say publicly(although I've been wrong before).

Someone else at play, methinks.

#4  Could be a 'double-reverse' though, and that would lend some credence to the Iran connection.

#5  Currently 7 seven and 32 injured ... but figures may change. A very sad incident - prayers for the families and survivors. Based on eye witness accounts, it may have involved a suicide bomber. But that is unclear.

#6  last comment should have said ... 7 dead and 32 injured.

#8  today is 18th anniversary of bombing of Argentine-Israel community center in Buenos Aires-- that one was pretty definitely an Iranian action

#10  This would be pretty stupid by Iran, unless they think they're about to lose Syria and hope Isreal will choose targets there. With the Zionist enemies they may be hoping to unite/discredit the Regime. Of course that might be moot point as well considering Assads the only one left alive out of his Cabinet.

#11  7 people now confirmed dead ... 35 injured with several in critical condition. News reports conflicting - with some stories saying the bombing was done by an explosive device in the luggage, while eye witness statements imply a suicide bomber.

Date and timing points to Iran - this could be a very clever way for another group to set up the Iranians as the guilty party. Mossad will have to work very hard to run the true perpetrators to ground.

#12  The Persians need to do something to keep up their reputation, given the various in-country whackings and network attacks. Expect to see more of the same, along with associated reprisals. The Israelis are quite persistent and have long memories.

#13  It can be a domestic work - around 10% of Bulgarian population is ... Turkish, muslim.

No further comments...

#14  Listed amongst the dead was the Bulgarian bus driver. That would seem to imply that the explosion came from the front of the bus - maybe consistent with a suicide bomber stepping onto the bus.

who would gain if Mossad went after Iran? pretty much any hardline Sunni extremist group.

#2  See, that's the diff between them and us. The recruiting sergeant guaranteed I'd be crapping in the woods and that there was a war on and I might be in it. Said I'd get in shape. I've been in shape and I figured what that meant.
No paradise. Free clothes, though.
There is an analogy in various folks in the Thirties who actually believed the homegrown parlor pinks and took their families to the USSR. Some returned, most ended up in labor camps.
