in connection to unrest during the recent protests in Kabul.

Barmak made the remarks during a session of the Upper House of Parliament in which the security sector officials were summoned to brief the Senators.

He said the police forces must be informed regarding any planned protests of demonstrations emphasizing that such movements would deemed illegal without coordinating with the police forces.

This comes as hundreds of residents of Kabul city protested against the arrest of a local uprising commander Alipur alias commander Shamsher in Kabul on Sunday and Monday.

Kabul Police Chief Gen. Syed Mohammad Roshandil had earlier said that the protests and rallies were organized without informing the police force which resulted in unrest in certain parts of the city.

The security officials are saying at least twenty coppers sustained injuries after the protests turned violent in west of the city.

Iraqi protesters clash with security forces in Basra over unemployment
Basra (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Fierce festivities have erupted between security forces and dozens of protesters outside an oil company in the oil-rich Iraqi city of Basra over high unemployment rates in the country, a well-informed source was quoted as saying.

The protesters have gathered outside the Basra Oil Company for 25 days, demanding job opportunities in the oil firms, the source told Dijlah TV channel on Tuesday.

They set fire to flammable materials, such as tires, during their protest, bringing the main Baghdad Street in Basra to a standstill, the source added.

The source pointed out that the recent escalation came after the government rejected their demands to get jobs at the oil firms.

Oil-rich Basra is one of the southern Iraqi cities that have recently witnessed mass protests over the dire state of the nation’s economy. The demonstrators are rallying against poor public services and corruption. They also demand job opportunities and better public services.

Northern Latakia: Al Nusra ambush fails, Syrian army lobs missiles

Jihadist rebels suffer heavy casualties in failed special operation in northern Latakia

[AlMasdar] (3:30 P.M.) – For the second time in the last two weeks, the jihadist rebels attempted a special operation to sneak behind the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) front-lines and ambush the troops near the Hama-Latakia axis.

Led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
, the jihadist rebels were attempting to infiltrate the Syrian Army’s lines at the town of Jubb al-Ahmar in order to eliminate another military post near the Hama axis.

However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham were spotted by a Syrian Arab Army scout this time, which would allow soldiers at the targeted post to be prepared for the murderous Moslem assault on their positions.

As the jihadist rebels approached the military post, the Syrian Arab Army opened fire on the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham murderous Moslems, eliminating the entire group of infiltrators.

According to a military source in northern Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army lost one soldier during the battle, while the entire jihadist group was neutralized and eliminated.

The source said that since the big jihadist ambush that killed over 20 soldiers last week, they have sent reinforcements to this front and increased the number of scouts along the Latakia-Hama axis.

While often short, these jihadist hit-and-run attacks often prove incredibly deadly for the Syrian military, so they are taking extra precautions to prevent them in the future.

Syrian Army launches powerful attack against jihadists in northern Latakia

[AlMasdar] (10:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed a powerful assault this evening in the northern countryside of the Latakia Governorate, a military source told al-Masdar News.

in the Turkmen Mountains of northern Latakia.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Army is responding to the jihadist attack that targeted their positions in the Turkmen Mountains.

Al-Zinki commander killed by unknown assailants in northern Idlib
Surely they can't mean... al-Zinki is zunk?
[AlMasdar] One of the main commanders of Harakat Nouriddeen al-Zinki was found dead on Tuesday after he went missing several days ago in the Idlib countryside.

Al-Sayyed had disappeared ten days ago in the Idlib province; he was found today with several gunshot wounds across his body.

No group has grabbed credit for this latest liquidation.

Syrian Army hammers southeast Idlib after jihadist attack

[AlMasdar] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack on southeast Idlib this afternoon after the jihadist rebels carried out an assault near the Abu Dhuhour Airport.

According to a military source in nearby Hama, the Syrian Arab Army heavily targeted the jihadist-held trenches inside the towns of al-Taman’ah, Jarjanaz, and al-Tah.

The source said the Syrian Arab Army used a large number of surface-to-surface missiles and artillery shells to pepper the jihadist trenches and military posts in southeast Idlib.

The jihadist rebels reportedly responded to this attack by firing several artillery shells towards the government-held towns in the Abu Dhuhour countryside.

Syrian military watches closely as Israeli warplanes continue to fly close to border
[AlMasdar] The Israeli Air Force conducted several flights inside of Lebanese airspace, today, flying as far west as Beirut city and as far east as the Syrian border.

According to a military source in Damascus, Israeli warplanes, including reconnaissance drones, were seen flying above southern, eastern, and western Leb on Tuesday, prompting both the Lebanese and Syrian air defenses to monitor the situation closely.

One Israeli warplane was said to have circled the Syrian-Lebanese border from the Beqa’a Valley; this raised Damascus’ alert levels.

These Israeli Air Force overflights into Leb have now occurred twice in the last 24 hours.

While Israeli often violates Lebanese airspace, the frequency of these flights as of late has the Syrian military on high alert.

The last the Israeli Air Force conducted overflights this frequently was on September 17th; they would bomb the Syrian provinces of Homs, Latakia, and Tartous on that same day.

Intense clashes breakout in southern Aleppo amid rising tensions
[AlMasdar] A fierce battle broke out between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
in the southern countryside of Aleppo this evening, a military source told al-Masdar.

According to the military source, the festivities broke out near the strategic town of Khan Touman, which is located along the Aleppo-Idlib Highway (M-5 Highway).

The military source said that the cause of the hostilities was an attack by the jihadist rebels; however, the latter has also accused the Syrian military of starting the festivities.

Tensions have been recently rising in southern Aleppo after the Syrian Army accused the jihadist rebels of launching a chemical weapons attack in the western part of the historic provincial capital.

US Coalition establishes base in northern Raqqa amid Turkish military buildup near border
[AlMasdar] The U.S. Coalition has constructed a new military base in the northern countryside of the al-Raqqa province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported this evening.

According to the report, the U.S. Coalition constructed a base in the Tal Abyad countryside, which is located just south of the Ottoman Turkish border.

This move by the U.S. Coalition comes just days after the Ottoman Turkish military mobilized a large number of their infantry personnel and rebel allies along the borders of the Aleppo and al-Raqqa provinces.

The U.S. Coalition already constructed five observation posts between the Aleppo and al-Raqqa provinces; this has angered the Ottoman Turkish regime because they view this as Washington’s attempt to block their future military operation east of the Euphrates.

Despite the U.S.’ decision to build these observation posts, it appears The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
is not backing down, as they continue to send reinforcements to the border in preparation for a new military operation.

Sunni imam shot dead in northern Iran
[DAWN] A Sunni imam who leads Friday prayers was rubbed out on Tuesday in a village in northern Iran, official news agency IRNA said.

Molavi Abdolghafur Jamalzahi was a holy man at the Reza Abad mosque, near Ramiyan, around 120 kilometres northeast of Tehran in Golestan province.

He was shot four times as he returned home from the mosque, IRNA said.

Reza Abad has around 4,000 residents and a "large number of foreigners and refugees", the news agency said.

It said that the authorities have not yet put forward a motive for Jamalzahi's murder, but cited an anonymous source saying it could be linked to "personal hostilities and tribal strife".

Iran is a Shia powerhouse, but the country's constitution says Sunnis ‐ who account for 10 per cent of the population ‐ are "free to perform their religious rites according to their religious jurisprudence".

Imams who lead Friday prayers, whether Sunni or Shia, are appointed by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's highest religious and political authority.
