Iranian Forces in Yemen Demand Arms Smuggling Routes Be Opened
[Free Beacon] Iranian-backed forces in Yemen are demanding the reopening of the country's international airport, a stumbling block in tense negotiations taking place this week between warring factions in Sweden, according to U.S. officials and Western sources on the ground who told the Washington Free Beacon this demand by Iran's Houthi rebels would allow Tehran to continue importing weapons and militants in an area of the Middle East that leaves Israel vulnerable to attack.

As the peace talks drag on with no sustainable end in sight, Iran's Houthi allies are demanding the Sana'a international airport be reopened, but they are taking issue with proposals that would mandate all planes in and out of the airport be screened by Yemen's Saudi-backed government.

Houthi leaders have rejected this compromise, sources confirmed to the Free Beacon, instead seeking to limit the possibility of inspections in order to keep military channels with Iran intact. This latest impasse is being viewed as a sign of the deep divisions that remain between Houthi rebels and Yemen.

The international community has hailed the peace talks as a success‐as it is the first time in more than two years the legitimate Yemeni government and Houthi rebels have met face-to-face‐but after five days of talks, the sides have yet to reach agreement on any of the key confidence building measures on the docket, or on a framework for an eventual peace agreement. The talks are expected to continue through the end of the week.

Saudi in talks with US for Arab front against Iran: Jubeir
[PRESSTV] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Foreign Minister Great Gazoo Adel al-Jubeir says the kingdom is in talks with the United States about a new security alliance of Arab countries specifically aimed at countering Iran.

Speaking at a press briefing in Riyadh Sunday, the Saudi FM said the new pact would be similar in style to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
) and would seek to protect the Middle East from "external aggression."

"Talks are continuing between the United States and the (Persian) Gulf states around this question and ideas are being drawn up," he said at the press call, which came after the annual Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit.

"The aim is to achieve security arrangements in the Middle East that can protect the region from external aggression... and strengthen relations between the United States and the countries of the region," Jubeir added.

The Saudi diplomat said the agreement, which is going to feature Egypt as a member as well, would be called the Middle East Strategic Alliance, or MESA.

The remarks confirmed months-long media reports about a joint push between Riyadh and Washington for the establishment of a so-called "Arab NATO" that would also serve Israeli interests in the Middle East region.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Persian Gulf Affairs Tim Lenderking on Sunday toured the region to convince Arab leaders to commit to the plan.

Persian Gulf kingdom sought to buy Israeli Hermes attack drones
[PRESSTV] A recent report has disclosed that a Persian Gulf kingdom wanted to purchase Israeli-made unmanned aerial vehicles several years ago amid reports that a number of Arab countries are dramatically warming up their relations with the Tel Aviv regime after secret contacts.

According to a report published by the Kan public broadcaster, the purchasing country, which was not identified in the report due to military censorship, made the request to acquire Elbit Hermes 450 medium-size long-endurance drones, which can be armed with air-to-surface munitions.

Israeli military officials mulled the offer for a while before turning it down after careful consideration, the report added.

The Persian Gulf kingdom then purchased Chinese Chengdu Pterodactyl I, also known as Wing Loong, drone.

and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), are currently known to be operating unmanned aerial vehicle.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that the authorities of Oman had allowed Israeli planes to use the country's airspace for flights, adding that Israel was working toward getting similar authorization from Saudi Arabia.

EU will launch financial mechanism with Iran by year-end: Mogherini
[PRESSTV] The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
will establish a mechanism to facilitate non-dollar transactions with Iran in the near future in an attempt to circumvent sanctions imposed by the United States against Tehran, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini says.

"I will expect this instrument to be established in the coming weeks before the end of the year as a way to protect and promote legitimate business," Mogherini told news hounds in Brussels on Monday.

The top EU diplomat did not offer any other details following a meeting of the bloc's foreign ministers in Brussels, but said work on creating the mechanism was "advancing well."

US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
withdrew his country in May from the landmark Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and decided to re-impose unilateral sanctions against Tehran.

Under the deal, reached between Iran and six major powers -- the United States, Britannia, La Belle France, Germany, Russia and China -- Tehran agreed to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions.

The Trump administration announced early in November the re-imposition of the "toughest" sanctions ever against Iran's banking and energy sectors with the aim of cutting off the country's oil sales and crucial exports.

A first round of American sanctions took effect in August, targeting Iran's access to the US dollar, metals trading, coal, industrial software, and auto sector.

The US administration hoped to get the other parties to the deal with Iran to likewise scrap the deal, but instead, they stressed that not only would they stick to the agreement, but they would also work to sustain it in the face of increased US pressure.

Immigration Fraud: Lies That Kill - 9/11 Commission identified immigration fraud as a key embedding tactic of terrorists
BLUF:
[Social Contact Press] However, as the 9/11 Commission discovered and as has been disclosed at a series of Congressional oversight hearings, terrorists have also committed fraud to gain entry to the U.S. and then embed themselves. Yet most of our politicians, including the mayors and governors of "Sanctuary" cities and states, blithely ignore the damage being done to Americans who are losing their livelihoods and, all too often, their lives, to aliens who are violating our laws and our borders.

For these politicians, the harm being done to Americans is "collateral damage," or, as the father of a young man who was killed in lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001, during the terror attacks, "the cost of doing business." Our politicians are arguably conducting the biggest con game in the history of our nation.

1,600 polio workers boycott anti-polio campaign in Gilgit Baltistan
[DAWN] Nearly 1,600 polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set...
workers will boycott an anti-polio campaign in Gilgit Baltistan because a dispute regarding pensions and other privileges has remained unresolved, Polio Workers Association for GB Vice President Mohammad Abbas said on Monday.

The four-day campaign was set to start today. Of the 1,600 polio workers, 99 per cent were female.

Abbas said that the boycott was ongoing in all ten districts of GB.

He added that prior to the boycott, they had not received cooperation in solving their problems through negotiations.

A nationwide anti-polio campaign is set to start today in an effort to vaccinate more than 38 million children under five years of age.

During the campaign, over 270,000 frontline workers will go door to door to ensure that every child receives vaccines.

Pakistain and Afghanistan are the only two countries in the world that have reported poliovirus cases this year.

U.N. Conference Adopts Migration Pact despite Withdrawals
[AnNahar] A United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
conference adopted a migration pact in front of leaders and representatives from over 160 countries in Morocco on Monday, despite a string of withdrawals driven by anti-immigrant populism.

The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration -- finalized at the U.N. in July after 18 months of talks -- was formally approved with the bang of a gavel in Marrakesh at the start of a two-day conference.

But the United States and at least 16 other countries either opted out or expressed concerns, with some claiming the pact infringes national illusory sovereignty.

Billed as the first international document on managing migration, it lays out 23 objectives to open up legal migration and discourage illegal border crossings, as the number of people on the move globally has surged to more than 250 million.

Describing it as a "roadmap to prevent suffering and chaos," U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres sought to dispel what he called a number of myths around the pact, including claims it will allow the U.N. to impose migration policies on member states.

The pact "is not legally binding", he said. "It is a framework for international cooperation."

"We must not succumb to fear and false narratives", he told an audience that included German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslems ..
, Panama's President Juan Carlos Varela, Greek premier Alexis Tsipras, Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen and Spain's premier Pedro Sanchez.

Merkel launched an impassioned defense of the pact and multilateralism, saying her country "through Nazism brought incredible pain to humanity."

"The answer to pure nationalism was the foundation of the United Nations and the commitment to jointly searching for answers to our common problems," she said.

She insisted the pact seeks to prevent, rather than encourage, illegal migration. "This is about safe, orderly and regular migration -- it says (this) clearly in the title."

- DRACONIAN MEASURES -
On Friday, the U.S. hit out at the pact, labelling it "an effort by the United Nations to advance global governance at the expense of the sovereign right of states."

It was the first country to disavow the negotiations late last year, while Australia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Poland and Slovakia have all pulled out of the process in recent months and weeks, before Chile withdrew overnight.

Rows over the accord have erupted in several European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
nations, hobbling Belgium's coalition government and pushing Slovakia's foreign minister to tender his resignation.

From the United States to Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and beyond, right-wing and populist leaders have taken increasingly draconian measures to shut out migrants colonists in recent years.

U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has pledged to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and has focused his recent ire on a migrant caravan from Central America, while a populist coalition government in Italia has clamped down on boats rescuing migrants colonists at sea.

Belgium's liberal premier Charles Michel attended the conference after winning the support of parliament to back the accord, but was left leading a minority government after a Phlegmish nationalist party said it will quit his coalition over the pact.

"This model of cooperation is complex, sometimes including steps forwards and sometimes banana skins," Michel told delegates.

"But it is the only way forwards for those who want a better world."

The pact has been welcomed by the Catholic Church as an important step towards addressing migrants colonists' needs and reducing their vulnerability.

"The Holy See is convinced that the enormous challenges that migration poses are best faced through multilateral processes rather than isolationist policies," said papal envoy Cardinal Piero Parolin.

Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras also welcomed the accord. These countries have worked on their own regional plan to manage migration, which EL Salvador's foreign minister Carlos Castaneda told news hounds represents a first effort to work within the framework of the global compact.

- 'SHOULD BE ETHICALLY BINDING' -
The U.N.'s children's agency said the pact could help provide better access to education and health for migrant children and offer "them stronger protection from exploitation and violence."

Other organizations, including Amnesia Amnesty International and the International Federation of the Red Thingy, see the accord as just a first step towards protecting migrants colonists.

"We have heard repeatedly that this compact is not legally binding and does not impact on state illusory sovereignty," said IFRC president La Belle Francesco Rocca at a presser on the sidelines of the main dialogue.

"But if we are serious about fixing this problem, it should at the very least be ethically binding."

In comments by a representative, Morocco's King Mohammed VI -- absent from proceedings -- said the pact offers a way forwards that navigates between the two extremes of closing borders and allowing uncontrolled migration.

After the Marrakesh conference, the U.N. General Assembly is set to adopt a resolution formally endorsing the deal on December 19.

U.S. congratulates Iraq on 1st anniv. of costly victory over Islamic State

Qatari envoy says Gaza airport was proposed, Israel unresponsive
[Al Jazeera] A Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
i envoy overseeing the Gulf state's humanitarian aid for the Gazoo Strip said on Monday that he had proposed building an airport in the blockaded Paleostinian enclave but had received no response from Israel.

In coordination with Israel and the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
, Qatar has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to various Gazoo projects that the partners say are designed to stave off Paleostinian poverty and prevent escalations in violence.

"They [Israel] said it would be discussed and they procrastinated... We will renew our request," Qatari Ambassador Mohammed al-Emadi told the Gazoo-based news agency SAWA.

"The Israeli side had security concerns and we told them we can resolve them by having the planes fly to Doha and return to Gazoo from there and under Qatari security supervision."

Israel has not responded, al-Emadi said, but proposed that such an airport be built on its side of the border - an idea the diplomat said had been rejected by Qatar.

Cogat, the Israeli government agency that has been coordinating with Qatar on the Gazoo aid efforts, declined comment on al-Emadi's remarks.

In 1998, the Paleostinians got their first international airport as a result of the historic peace treaty with Israel, but Israel destroyed its radar antenna and runway a year after the second Paleostinian uprising, known as the al-Aqsa Intifada, began in September 2001.

Israel withdrew its settlers and soldiers from Gazoo in 2005, but it maintains tight control of Gazoo's land, air and sea borders. Egypt controls access from the south.

Israel says the restrictions are to stop weapons from entering the Strip and to isolate Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, which has controlled Gazoo's two million population since 2007.

Decision to assassinate Arafat approved by Saudis: Former senior advisor
[PRESSTV] A former senior adviser to Yasser Arafat, the late leader of the Paleostine Liberation Organization (PLO), has said that Arafat's death was not natural and he was actually assassinated, with Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
approving the decision to assassinate him.
You could tell it was a Saudi plot because they never found the body.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Paleostine’s Arabic-language Shehab news agency, Bassam Abu Sharif said former US president, George W. Bush, had contacted Saudi officials after a meeting with former Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, during which Arafat's liquidation was discussed, and Saudi authorities consented.

Abu Sharif went on to say that the Riyadh regime approved of Arafat’s liquidation, because it viewed him as an obstacle to the Arab Peace Initiative, which envisioned a so-called two-state solution to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.

"Sharon met with Bush at the White House and told him that he could no longer keep his promise of not physically attacking Yasser Arafat, because he was a leading terror figure and collaborating with Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, and that Hamas operations were carried out with the approval and blessing of Arafat," the senior member of the PLO pointed out.

Abu Sharif highlighted that Bush contacted Saudi officials the following day and informed them of the matter, and the Al Saud regime agreed to the decision to assassinate Arafat.

The late Paleostinian leader's adviser noted that his new book, titled Salty Fish, contains many secrets about the liquidation of Arafat; Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the former leader of the Paleostinian resistance movement Hamas, who was killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike in 2004; as well as senior Hamas figure, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, who was found dead in his hotel room in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, back in 2010.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
U.N. Launches Aid Delivery from Jordan to 650,000 Syrians
[AnNahar] The United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
said Sunday it began delivering aid to hundreds of thousands of Syrians through the Jaber-Nassib border crossing with Jordan, which reopened two months ago.

In total, "369 trucks carrying 11,200 metric tons of... assistance for over 650,000 people" will be involved in the four-week operation, the U.N.'s humanitarian agency OCHA said.

The "exceptional" delivery, which amounts to one-month's worth of aid, would be carried out by six U.N. agencies and one international NGO, it added.

"This is a major logistical operation in an effort to mitigate the suffering of the Syrian people," said Anders Pedersen, the U.N. humanitarian coordinator in Jordan.

Among the immediate needs of Syrians were food, shelter, water and medical care, according to OCHA.

"We are working closely with our U.N. partners inside Syria to ensure this assistance reaches those who need it most," Pedersen added.

Syrian regime forces retook control of the border crossing from rebels in July.

Known as Jaber on the Jordanian side and Nassib in Syria, the crossing is a key Middle East trade route and its reopening in October after a three-year closure was seen as a boon for the economies of both countries.

Syria's civil war has killed more than 360,000 people since it started with the brutal repression of anti-government protests in 2011.

More than half the country's 23 million people have fled, with 6.6 million of those internally displaced and more than 5.6 million going abroad, according to U.N. figures.

Mashnouq Says ISF Thwarted Bombing Attacks by IS
[AnNahar] Caretaker Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq on Monday revealed that the Internal Security Forces have discovered and thwarted planned bombing attacks by the Islamic State

group.

Mashnouq told news hounds that the bombs were smuggled in from the rebel-held northwestern Syrian province of Idlib in buckets of cheese, and were intended for targeting places of worship, gatherings of Christians and military posts.

The minister added that the attacks were supposed to take place during Leb's parliamentary elections in May.
May was a long time ago. Why are they just announcing it now?
He added that those planning the attacks were monitored by the ISF Intelligence Branch for 10 months through a Syrian informer in Leb.

The announcement came ahead of the Christmas season when many Lebanese celebrate in public places.

IS and al-Qaeda-linked Death Eaters carried out attacks in Leb in the past, killing scores.

Syrian army demobilises some conscripted, reservist officers
[AlAhram] The Syrian military will demobilise some conscripted and reserve officers, the military said on Monday, following the government’s recapture of much of the country from rebels and the dwindling of fighting on many fronts.

Last week UN special Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura said there was "no major military territorial conflict" at present, but Damascus has sworn to retake every inch of Syria and there is no sign of an imminent peace deal.

The tide of the 7 1/2-year-old conflict turned in the government’s favour in 2015 with the intervention of Russian air power to supplement Iran-backed militias fighting in support of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

The army general command issued an administrative order on Monday ending active service for conscripted officers who will have completed five extra years, beyond their original 18-month term of mandatory military service, in January.

The order, which takes effect next week, also demobilizes reserve officers who joined in 2013 and who will have completed five years of reserve service by January.

The army began demobilising some conscripts who had served long periods in May, shortly after it took back eastern Ghouta, the last major rebel enclave near the capital Damascus.

After the conflict erupted in 2011, desertions, defections and deaths drained the Syrian army.

It has relied on critical support from Shia militias including Leb’s Iran-backed Hezbollah movement, though devastating Russian air strikes on rebel areas proved decisive in Assad’s military comeback.

Syria conscripts men at age 18 into the army. During the conflict many conscripts said they were serving additional years with no sign of being discharged.

Damascus announced an amnesty in October for men who deserted the army or avoided military service, giving them several months to report for duty without facing punishment.
