Gas tax pays for roads (well what the pols don't spend elsewhere). Electric cars don't pay that tax but they do pay for the roads. It was inevitable the politicians would go after unclaimed booty.

A hefty annual fine for failing to burn corn-gas and fuel tax avoidance
If there was a way to turn corn-gas back into food AND a Value Added Tax on each stage of the process, you could close the loop and create a perpetual funding machine.
Note: if you could turn corn-gas back into its original components, namely food and dinosaurs, that would be even cooler.

Electric cars running off of thermal power plants is stupid, ignorant, and delusional thinking. Cars running off natural gas, like commuters and municipal fleets make lots more sense.

if you could turn corn-gas back into its original components
[Politico] The Congressional Black Caucus may have found an answer to its Joe Biden dilemma: Vice President Kamala Harris.
Some black lawmakers are agonizing over whether to back Biden or two members of the close-knit caucus ‐ Sens. Harris and Cory Booker ‐ who are also vying for the White House, according to interviews with a dozen CBC members.
But with the former vice president jumping out to a huge, if early, lead in the polls, several CBC members are warming to the idea of a Biden-Harris ticket to take on President Donald Trump.
"That would be a dream ticket for me, a dream ticket!" said Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.). "If she is not the nominee, that would be a dream ticket for this country."
Harris is everything the 76-year-old Biden is not. The freshman senator from California is younger, a woman and a person of color. As Biden gets dinged for his bipartisan bromides, Harris is winning applause from progressives for her merciless cross-examination of Trump officials.

I had a couple of Warren / Harris 2020! stickers made up, to go with my new Outback and to screw with people. Maybe, just maybe, a Harris / Abrams 2020! sticker is in order. And note the order of the names.
It looked like this.

[Red State] Whining about losing is like bragging about winning: It makes you look like an idiot.
But not to Hillary Clinton.
In February, I compared the former First Lady to Jason, Freddie, and Michael Myers ‐ she just keeps coming back (here). But not in a cool kind of way like skinny ties.
The supportive spouse of Bill Clinton recently lamented to an audience that her rightful seat in the Oval Office had been stolen:

I've always thought that Slick Willy set up the entire Spygate fiasco to fail so that he could get rid of the whiny, carping, complaining, evil Hildabeest.

She's still talking but is anybody listening? I heard their last speaking engagement in Inglewood, CA was so sparsely attended that tickets went for $2 and they had to put curtains up to hide the vast number of empty seats. Pathetic.

Realistically I bet most of the people around her expected her to stroke out on election night. They clearly didn't read enough about what happened to Stalin to get it done.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
