Michelle Obama Rents $23M ‘Shark House' Mansion for L.A. Visit
[Breitbart] Michelle Obama reportedly rented a $23 million home in the Hollywood Hills this week amid speculation the former first family is considering a move to Los Angeles.
A bit closer to their dealer.
According to TMZ, Obama stayed in the new-construction pad known as the "Shark House" because it is outfitted with an "open-air aquarium" with various types of sharks. The entertainment outlet said there is "incredible security" at the home, but it was shut off while Obama stayed Monday and Tuesday. "One realtor, who’s very well connected in the area, tells TMZ the buzz is that Michelle might be scoping out the neighborhood and/or that particular house to set down roots," the site reported.

Mercury News reports:
The "ultra modern, glossy and boxy" home is a spec house, built for ultra-exclusive clientele to rent or buy.
Frankly, I was hoping for something even 'boxier.'
The three-story home has seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, two pools, a "wellness center," a massage room, a movie theater, a wine room and a special freezer for tequila and vodka.

As for the shark "pond," real estate agent Sam Real of Nest Seekers International told Curbed Los Angeles that it is an uncovered 300-gallon tank, filled with stingrays, starfish, small houndsharks and other types of sharks. Behind the pond rises a living wall. Several stepping stones cross the tank, so that homeowners can watch their fish, "do yoga or read a newspapers and whatever you want to do," Real said.
"Whatever you want to do".... which is pretty much what both of them have always done.
Watch Real tour the home below:

#5  An 'uncovered 300-gallon tank' isn't really that large. More like a large bathtub.

Add a zero (heh!) and it would be somewhat more interesting.

House Dems Tweet Photo Of 'Inhumane' Detention Centers...Then Delete Post After Realizing It Was Under Obama.
[Townhall] Well, that's embarrassing for the Democrats. In an attempt to slam what they view as President Donald J. Trump's inhumane treatment of illegal aliens and migrant children, the Democratic House Oversight Committee tweeted a picture of an overcrowded detention center. The only problem with this photo is that it was taken during President Barack Obama's term in office.

"Last week, members of our committee visited a detention center at the southern border and discovered grotesque treatment of children," the tweet from Tuesday afternoon said. "This week, we are examining the inhumane treatment of the children in these detention centers."

The 2020 Trump campaign war room quickly responded, saying, House Democrats are promoting their 'civil rights' hearing on 'kids in cages' and 'inhumane treatment' with a photo from 2014, when Joe Biden was Vice President. So dishonest!"

#5  And they overestimate how many true zealots they have. They will over reach. And the pushback will be brutal and vicious. It will catch them by surprise since they assume more of the country agrees with them. But once you pop that bubble of "Leave me alone or else" they are doomed. And I for one will watch with glee because they have destroyed any trace of mercy and compassion for them.

Left-Wing Megadonor Tom Steyer Launches 2020 Ad Buy, Attacks ‘Big-Money Interests’
[BREITBART] Left-wing billionaire mega-donor and impeachment crusader Tom Steyer entered the 2020 Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday, and launched the first major television advertising blitz of the campaign on Wednesday.

Politico reports that Steyer is running two ads for two weeks, focusing on the first four primary and caucus states: "The pair of ads are backed up by $1.4 million dollars in spending, according to details of the ad campaign shared first with POLITICO. They will run nationally on CNN and MSNBC and locally in the four early states ‐ Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada ‐ for two weeks, from July 10 to July 23."

Steyer is helped by his massive wealth. His estimated net worth is $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. He "made a fortune, in part, by investing in fossil fuels" while at Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based Farallon Capital Management, Forbes adds.

As he burst onto the political scene five years ago, Steyer re-invented himself as a climate change activist. According to OpenSecrets.org, he was the Democrats’ single largest individual contributor in the 2014 midterm elections, a cycle in which they lost the Senate. He was also the top donor in 2016, and the third-largest in 2018. Partly at his urging, Senate Democrats ‐ then in the majority ‐ held an all-night talkathon in 2014 urging action to fight climate change. His NextGen Climate Action Committee super PAC has registered millions of voters, focusing on younger voters.

In the two-and-a-half years since Trump took office, Steyer has led a campaign to encourage Democrats to impeach the president. He launched the "Need to Impeach" super PAC and, together with NextGen, planned to spend over $100 million and hire 1,000 staff in that effort. He decided not to run for president earlier this year, and spend $30 million to defeat Republicans instead.

Steyer has since had a change of heart.

His first new commercial, "Money Where His Mouth Is," casts Steyer’s career as one of self-sacrifice for the cause:

#1  This is great - a big-spending late to the party presidential campaign by a hypocritical billionaire with piss poor political instincts in an already overcrowded field. He'll piss away about 20% of his fortune in the process, weakening what little appeal he has going forward. More of this, please, and pass the popcorn.
Posted by: Raj || 07/12/2019 0:17 Comments || Top||

#2  I don't think Steyer will get into the July 30-31 debates as he is running out of time to meet the donor and polling thresholds.

Perhaps he is thinking that when 10 or so drop out in August that he can then be in the Sept 12-13 debates.

Or perhaps he is just flying blind and dumb.

#3  Or perhaps he is just flying blind and dumb.

That's the way I see it. As a wise San Francisco policeman once said, a man's gotta know his limitations, and Steyer does not. Let him piss away his fortune.

#5  These entrants with big money and vacant stares are the idiots who believe the Democrat propaganda machine about Trump. That he's an ignoramus brat who the stupid American public happened to elect because they don't know what's good for them. They think "If he can be elected , why can't I? It just takes charm and money I suppose. If nothing my stocks might go up if I get enough votes." Imbeciles.

Court tosses lawsuit from woman who claimed Trump ‘forcibly kissed’ her
[NYPOST] A lawsuit filed against President Trump by a former campaign staffer who claimed that he "forcibly kissed" her in 2016 has been thrown out of a Florida federal court.

Alva Johnson, 43, an outreach director for Trump in Alabama and Florida, said that the then-candidate went for a lip-lock outside one of his rallies in Tampa, Fla., on Aug. 24, 2016.

"I immediately felt violated because I wasn’t expecting it or wanting it," she told the Washington Post in February, when she filed suit. "I can still see his lips coming straight for my face."
"He raped my cheek with an air-kiss!"
Johnson said she turned her head to avoid the smooch, which landed on her cheek, instead.

But witnesses including then-Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said the incident never happened.

Johnson, who is African American, also made allegations of pay discrimination in her filing.

Judge William Jung tossed Johnson’s lawsuit Friday, saying that it included extraneous information ‐ including details of 19 other alleged incidents of sexual misconduct by Trump over the past 40 years ‐ and hinting that it was filed to score political
points.

"As currently stated, the Complaint presents a political lawsuit, not a tort and wages lawsuit," Jung wrote in the order. "If Plaintiff wishes to make a political statement or bring a claim for political purposes, this is not the forum."

Labor Sec. Alex Acosta Resigns Amid Pall of Jeffrey Epstein Investigation
If they can’t hurt President Trump, they’ll strip him of his people, one by one.
[PJMedia] On Friday morning, President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
announced that Labor Secretary Alex Acosta had resigned, following new scrutiny of his role in the 2008 plea deal for confessed sex criminal and financier Jeffrey Epstein
...A high class pimp financier who was alleged to maintain a stable of underage whores sex slaves who were paid big bucks to entertain the rich and/or famous. He is a registered sex offender and has so far made 17 out-of-court settlements with former members of his stable, and some cases are ongoing. 2011 court docs reveal that 21 email addresses and phone numbers for Bill Clinton and an aide were found in Epstein's electronic black book, and that Clinton frequently flew with Epstein on his private plane between 2002 to 2005. But But really, they were probably just discussing finance or politix or something. While getting massaged.....
. Various outlets reported the news, including USA Today and Rooters.

According to reports, Trump announced that Acosta himself made the decision to resign. He also called Acosta's presence in the cabinet a "distraction," and announced that Acosta's deputy, Pat Pizzella, would become acting secretary. The resignation is expected next week.

Democrats demanded Acosta's resignation earlier this week following Epstein's arrest on sex trafficking charges. Even so, an earlier case arguably should have brought the new charges to light. An investigation was dropped as part of a plea deal agreed to by Acosta, then U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Some investigations have suggested Acosta helped craft the deal.

In an impromptu presser Friday morning, Trump and Acosta addressed news hounds about the resignation. Acosta confirmed reports, but he also chided the press for covering the Epstein scandal without referencing the impressive jobs numbers under President Trump and under his own watch at the Department of Labor.

"I do not think it is right and fair for this administration's labor department to have Epstein as the focus rather than the incredible economy that we have today," Acosta said. So he called Trump and "told him that I thought the right thing was to step aside. Because cabinet positions are temporary trusts. It would be selfish for me to stay in this position and continue talking about a case that's twelve years old rather than about the amazing economy we have right now."

The resignation is effective one week from today.

#1  I always thought Mnuchin would be the one to go first.

#2  So Acosta must have other skeletons in his closet other than a flight and friendship with the Epstein. He has to understand the media will tear into him, his family, and friends. Sometimes, innocent or nor, it can be better to cut bait.

#3  Actually, the boys over at Powerline have been on Acosta's case for a long time. Not about the 'deal', but more on the line he would have been just as effective working for Obama than Trump. In other words, not much pushing the Trump agenda in Labor.
