HoR condemns: ‘liquidation’ of LNA war prisoners, injured and Turkish participation in fighting
[Libya Herald] Libya’s internationally-recognized parliament, the House of Representatives (HoR), condemned what it referred to as the "liquidation" of Libyan National Army (LNA) war injured and prisoners in Gharian.

The condemnation statement released yesterday came in reaction to claims of the "liquidation" of some LNA troops by pro internationally recognized Libyan government forces.

This allegedly took place after the pro Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
forces pushed back the pro Hafter forces from the mountain city of Gharian in a surprise attack.

In its statement, the HoR said it "strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist crime" carried out by the "extremist terrorists" of the Faiez Serraj government for the "liquidation of LNA forces in Gharian hospital" in a move it called "totally removed from humanitarian values".

The HoR also condemned Ottoman Turkish "intervention" and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s "declaration of war" on Libya through its participation in the operations of the forces of Evil militias by fighting against the LNA and through its supply of arms and logistical support.

The HoR also noted the "sorry silence" of the UN and international community on the matter.

The HoR said that the support of Turkey and Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
for the bully boy, terrorist militias of Tripoli will not stop it from pursuing and cleansing Libya of terrorism, extremism and the public money-grabbing, people-smuggling militias ‐ as they did in Benghazi, the oilfields, Derna, south Libya and western Libya.

This effort, the HoR statement added, is in pursuit of an honourable life for Libyans and the establishment of security and stability and the re-establishment of the state.

The Faiez Serraj-led Presidency Council and Government of National Accord, meanwhile, has denied the allegation. It said that its Emergency Committee visited Gharian hospital where LNA troops were receiving normal medical treatment.

It accused the Hafter side of fabricating the accusations as a distraction from its heavy defeat in Gharian.

It invited international independent observers to visit Gharian to establish the facts.

It will be recalled that while the HoR accuses the Tripoli government of receiving military and logistic help from Turkey and Qatar, the Khalifa Hafter led forces are also accused of receiving military and logistic help from Egypt and the UAE.

Equally, the LNA forces have also been accused over the years of conduct that falls below "humanitarian values" in its war efforts in Benghazi and Derna.

For example, on 8 May 2019, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda told the UN Security Council that Libya’s "Failure to arrest and surrender persons against whom warrants of arrest have been issued can result in real harm".

Bahraini court overturns decision to strip 92 nationals of citizenship
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bahrain’s top court of appeals has overturned the decision to strip the citizenship of 92 nationals who were earlier convicted in the case of forming the so-called "Bahraini Hezbollah" terrorist group.

The first instance court had earlier sentenced 69 defendants to life imprisonment, 10 years to 39 defendants, seven years to 23 other defendants, five years imprisonment for one of the accused, 3 years imprisonment for six of the accused. Thirty people were acquitted of charges against them.

In total, the court had issued orders to revoke the nationality of 138 accused in the case.

In September last year, the Public Prosecutor’s office said it had received a report from the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) regarding the formation of a terrorist cell inside Bahrain at the behest of Iranian regime leaders who issued their orders to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to unify the elements of various terrorist factions that carry out terror attacks in Bahrain.

Muslim 'Scholars' Demand all of Israel, Jerusalem as Caliphate
[Breitbart] Twenty-six "Muslim scholars" based in Britain have called for "fascist" Israel to be returned to the Arabs, and expressed their hope that Jerusalem will be the capital of the Islamic Caliphate when it returns, inshaallah ! .

5Pillars , which describes itself as "The largest regulated Muslim news site in Europe & the Americas" ‐ but has been described by Lead Commissioner for the Commission for Countering Extremism Sara Khan
Yupp!
simply as "Islamist" - posted an open letter on their site and invited other muslim schweinhundsscholars to sign it. The 5Pillars postures as a 'moderate' organization of several clergy, but it's just a facade for covert help and indoctrination by ingratiating themselves with other moderate clergies and muscling them out.

45 per cent of IS foreign fighters have returned to England. With that Britain has the highest number of successfully returned jihadists than any country. The UK is a powder keg.

Do head to Breitbart to see both articles.

Author says UK literary events refusing to host him because he is Jewish
(IsraelTimes] Richard Zimler, author of bestselling ’The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon,’ writes in Guardian that organizers are becoming anti-Semitic over fears of offending pro-Paleostinian activists.

A bestselling author says organizers have dropped him from literary events in recent weeks because of fears his Jewish heritage will offend pro-Paleostinian activists.

Richard Zimler, whose newest book "The Gospel According to Lazarus" has been widely praised, wrote in The Guardian that a publicist trying to book appearances for him in Britannia had been blackballed by two different literary events that had initially shown interest, once they found out he is Jewish.

"If cultural organizations are afraid of hosting events for Jewish writers, then Britannia has taken a big step backwards," he wrote.

The Guardian did not name the organizations that had feared hosting him, but the paper said the publicist, who also was not named, confirmed that talks over hosting him were cut off over fears of anti-Israel protests.

Zimler blamed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement and the UK Labour party, which has been accused of anti-Semitism, of deepening an "atmosphere of fear."

The BDS movement claims to only oppose Israeli policies and not be anti-Semitic. Zimler, who was born in the US and lives in Portugal, said he has no connection with Israel.

"I have neither investments nor family there," he wrote. "It’s true my new novel is set in the Holy Land, but it takes place 2,000 years before the foundation of the state of Israel."

There was no immediate comment from the Peter Owen publishing house, which released his book in the UK in April.

Zimler won renown for his debut novel "The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon" in 1996. His latest tome deals with Jesus’ relationship with the man he raised from the dead.

The Sunday Times named "The Gospel According to Lazarus" one of the best books of 2019 so far.

Europe
Celebrity appeal raises €500,000 for Sea-Watch captain
[DW] A crowdfunding effort for detained sea captain Carola Rackete ‐ backed by two of Germany's top television celebrities ‐ raised €500,000 ($569,000) within hours of its launch.

German-born Rackete was arrested on Saturday after ramming her vessel past a police boat that was blocking its entry to the harbor on the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa. She was held on the charge of breaking maritime law, with Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini declaring the maneuver to have been "an act of war."

The funding campaign, fronted by television hosts Jan Böhmermann and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, was launched late on Saturday. It had already passed its half-a-million euro milestone by mid-afternoon Sunday.

The German humanitarian group Sea-Watch had rescued 53 people from an unseaworthy boat that was launched from Libya almost three weeks ago. In recent days, 13 people were taken off the boat and allowed into Italia for medical reasons.

However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
40 people remained on board when Sea-Watch 3 docked without permission in Lampedusa on Saturday. Before docking, the vessel rammed an Italian border police motor boat that was in its path.

Salvini on Saturday said Rackete's actions had risked the lives of the border police, and made it clear Italia was dealing with "criminals." The captain of the police boat said his vessel would have been destroyed if he hadn't taken evasive action.

Police have taken possession of the Sea-Watch 3 rescue ship for the time being.

Iraq
Airstrikes to continue in Kurdistan Region despite Iraqi outcry: Turkey MFA
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
summoned its Charge d’Affaires in Iraq to Ankara on Sunday, vowing in a Foreign Ministry statement to "resolutely continue" its Operation Claw Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in the Kurdistan Region in defiant response to Iraqi government condemnation of a deadly airstrike last Thursday.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday issued a statement of "condemnation" of what it called a "unilateral act of war," two days after a Ottoman Turkish airstrike killed four people and maimed four more.

"While we are keen to establish long-term strategic relations and to prevent acts emanating from Iraqi territory against the security of neighboring Turkey, we believe that unilateral acts of war violate Iraqi illusory sovereignty, contradict the principles of good neighborliness...and pose a serious violation of international humanitarian law," the Iraqi MFA said.

Dubbing Iraq’s statement "unacceptable," Ottoman Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs front man Hami Aksoy said in a statement that "Turkey resolutely continues cross-border operations against forces of Evil in Iraq."

While Ottoman Turkish airstrikes in the Region are not a new occurrence, they have been stepped up in recent weeks with the launch of Operation Claw, a large-scale operation aimed at disrupting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)’s logistical networks and isolating its Kurdistan Region headquarters in Qandil.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)’s response to airstrikes has been far less critical of Turkey, placing sole blame for the airstrikes on the PKK for "endangering the lives of villagers" living close to the epicenter of festivities at the Turkey-Iraq-Iran

Its sympathetic stance to Turkey was noted and employed by Aksoy in his Sunday rebuttal to Iraqi officials.

"The Iraqi statement does not refer to the PKK regarding the [Ottoman Turkish] operation in Iraqi Kurdish Regional Administration [Kurdistan Region], while the KRG authorities held the PKK responsible in theirs," Aksoy added.

Weapons & ammunition warehouses threaten Iraqi residents’ safety
Inshallah, dudes.
Baghdad (IraqiNews) A security source informed, on Sunday, that over 120 weapons and ammunition warehouses are still in different residential areas in Iraq, while described these warehouses as "time bombs" due to the high temperature.

The source explained that the transfer of weapons caches from the cities stopped before the legislative elections mid-last year, and no transfer was made since then.

The source also indicated that cities such as Baghdad, Diyala, Salahuddin and Babil are ranked first in the number of warehouses that contain weapons, explosives and various war materials, such as missiles, rockets and explosive components.

"Most of these weapons and ammunition are stored in primitive barrels and metal containers that threaten the security and safety of citizens," he said.

It is noteworthy that a number of cities witnessed, earlier, the earth-shattering kaboom of warehouses located in residential area, mostly because of the high temperature during the summer. These explosions resulted in the killing and injury of large number of citizens, as well as inflicting material damage to the area of incident.

Under Palestinian homes, US envoys hammer open an ancient East Jerusalem road
Anywhere else in the world an archeological dig would be Page 3: Non-WoT stuff. But in Israel the history of the Jews in the land is denied altogether by the Palestinians and their allies — about which you can read at the link if you are so inclined, dear Reader.
[IsraelTimes] Angering PA and anti-settlement groups, David Friedman and Jason Greenblatt attend inauguration of ancient Jewish pilgrimage road excavated in Silwan neighborhood.

US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and White House Mideast peace envoy Jason Greenblatt, at an inaugural ceremony on Sunday, hammered through the final wall standing in front of an archaeological tourist site that was dug under Paleostinian homes in East Jerusalem.

"Whether there was ever any doubt about the accuracy, the wisdom, the propriety of [US] President [Donald] Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, I certainly think this lays all doubts to rest," said Friedman before joining other Israeli and American bigwigs in symbolically breaking down the wall, which led to the "Pilgrimage Road," a now-subterranean stairway that was said to have served as a main artery for Jews to the Temple Mount thousands of years ago.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Satellite Shows Four S-300 Missile Launchers Erected In Syrian's Masayf
[Jerusalem Post] Satellite images released by Israeli intelligence firm ImageSat Intl (ISI) on Sunday show the complete deployment of all four Russian-made S-300 missile defense systems in Syria’s Masyaf province.

In February, satellite images released by the Israeli satellite company showed three out of the four systems had been erected with one launcher observed covered by a camouflage net.

The camouflaging of the fourth launcher "is rare and raises question marks about the operational level of the whole battery and specifically of the covered and folded launcher," ISI said at the time.

Russia delivered the launcher, radar and command-and-control vehicle of the advanced air-to-surface missile system to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad in early October as a response to the downing of a Russian reconnaissance plane by Syrian air defenses during an Israeli airstrike on Iranian targets the previous month.

Moscow said it would also impose electronic countermeasures over Syria’s coastline to suppress satellite navigation, onboard radar systems and communications of warplanes attacking targets on Syrian territory.

The incident led to one of the lowest points in the relationship between Jerusalem and Moscow in years.

With the help of the Russians, Iranians and Hezbollah, Assad has regained control over the majority of Syria and is rebuilding his army, focusing first on intelligence and air defense divisions which could pose a threat to Israeli aircraft.

Israel has been carrying out airstrikes in the war-torn country against Hezbollah and Iranian targets and has stressed that it will continue to operate when necessary.

In April, an airstrike blamed on Israel completely destroyed a possible Iranian surface-to-surface missile factory in Syria’s Masyaf. The possible surface-to-surface missile factory included a main hangar measuring 60x25 meters and several big industrial hangars and buildings which probably serve for production and assembly of missiles.

Americans ‘propagandized’ and ‘badly educated’ on global matters: Analyst
[PRESSTV] People in the United States are "thoroughly propagandized" and "badly educated" when it comes to matters of global importance, which is why they can be easily coerced into believing that war can be the only way possible for resolving issues of controversy, an American journalist and political commentator says.

Don DeBar, a commentator and radio host based in New York, made the comments after a poll showed more than a third of Americans would support a preemptive nuclear strike on North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
if the country tested a long-range missile capable of reaching the United States.

The survey of 3,000 Americans published this month in the Bulletin of Atomic Sciences found that over a third of Americans supported a preventive US military attack against Pyongyang if the North resumed testing long-range, nuclear-capable missiles that could reach the United States.

The respondents said they would even support a nuclear-first strike on the North "regardless of the civilian casualties such an attack would produce."

"The American people are so thoroughly propagandized and so badly educated in matters of global importance," DeBar told Press TV in a phone interview on Sunday. "Just about anything can be sold to them and generally the only product, intellectual product, being sold to them is war."

"It is so mostly beyond their conception that it is possible for the US government to take on any large enterprise under the military action," he noted. "If this weren’t the case, then they would raise questions all the time about why don’t we healthcare, why don’t we have a national housing policy, why don’t we have better schools, etc."

Debar further said that the Americans believed the only thing the US government was competent to do was military action.

The poll also showed that the respondents were overly optimistic that the US military could destroy all of North Korea’s nuclear weapons.

Home Front: Culture Wars
George Soros and Charles Koch have teamed up to end the US "forever war"
The Boston Globe:

BESIDES BEING BILLIONAIRES and spending much of their fortunes to promote pet causes, the leftist financier George Soros and the right-wing Koch brothers have little in common. They could be seen as polar opposites. Soros is an old-fashioned New Deal liberal. The Koch brothers are fire-breathing right-wingers who dream of cutting taxes and dismantling government. Now they have found something to agree on: the United States must end its "forever war" and adopt an entirely new foreign policy.

In one of the most remarkable partnerships in modern American political history, Soros and Charles Koch, the more active of the two brothers, are joining to finance a new foreign-policy think tank in Washington. It will promote an approach to the world based on diplomacy and restraint rather than threats, sanctions, and bombing.

We should begin with a little clarification here. George Soros is actually a raging progressive and the Koch brothers are very libertarian. A left wing rag like the Globe rarely gets things like this right.

What they're trying to do is paint Soros as some sort of centrist and the Kochs as fringe loons, when the opposite is true.

Either way, this is a most interesting alliance. These are the two most financially influential entities in American politics in recent years. That they are finding common ground is worth paying attention to.

What it can accomplish is iffy. Diplomatic solutions are always desirable, but it was the threat of mutually assured nuclear destruction that enabled us all to survive the Cold War.

The agenda is ambitious:

It aims to issue four reports before the end of 2019: two offering alternative approaches to the Middle East and East Asia, one on "ending endless war," and one called "democratizing foreign policy." Its statement of principles asserts that the United States "should engage with the world, and the essence of engagement is peaceful cooperation among peoples. For this reason, the United States must cherish peace and pursue it through the vigorous practice of diplomacy . . . The use of armed force does not represent American engagement in the world.

That last line kind of ignores the necessary realities of America's role in the world but they are attempting to stake out some new ground here.
I don't trust any of the billionaires and them teaming up makes me want to grab my kit and rifle. Hopefully something good comes out of it, but I ain't holding my breath.

#1  the United States "should engage with the world, and the essence of engagement is peaceful cooperation among peoples.

Nothing like the threat of certain violence to ensure peaceful cooperation among peoples. Peaceful people don't need it, but for others, it helps to be reminded.

Afterthought: is this the same crowd that gets their panties in a bunch when the US Navy conducts freedom of navigation exercises?

#3  What they're trying to do is paint Soros as some sort of centrist and the Kochs as fringe loons, when the opposite is true.

Let's scrap the debate about where they fall on the political spectrum and just call it "An Unholy Alliance."
