A Different Type of Secession Is Already Happening in the USA
BLUF:
[Townhall] Never forget that many individual state legislators are professional politicians. They may disagree with some of the policies that flow from Washington D.C., but they are not angry enough to vote for secession, and that is what is required to secede, anger. While an official secession will not happen, there will be a different type. In fact, it has already started in our country.

Instead of state legislatures, dominated by urban dwellers, voting for secession, Americans who live in rural and some suburban areas are executing a secession of their own. They are disassociating themselves from the lifestyles, cultural mores, laws, and self-inflicted wounds exhibited in our large cities.

Of course, rural Americans are already living in areas removed from large cities, but geography is only one of the many differences. An even more striking distinction involves political ideology and attitudes on an array of issues like criminal justice.

Citizens living outside of ultra-progressive urban areas do not accept what is going on in large cities. Surely, the thinking is, "I am not one of them. They are different from me. We do not agree on basic things, like what laws should govern human conduct."

This mental disassociation did not exist in previous times of crisis in our country. There was much more national unity in December of 1941 or even September of 2001. At that time, rural Americans and city dwellers still had many shared values and followed the same laws. Clearly, the similarity in culture and politics between rural and urban Americans is dying, and the pace of its death march is quickening.

#2  /\ Yes, a "different kind of secession" indeed.

It might be fair to characterize those leaving the now uninhabitable cities and urban nightmares as refugees. Not a Pol Pot 'killing fields' level of forced migration, but having some similarities. By the way, as you are probably aware, Cambodia remains a communist (rich people and peasant) county yet today.

Africa Subsaharan
Alex Newman - Agter Die Deipstaat (Behind the Deep State) video
[New American Mag] In this episode of Behind the Deep State, host Alex Newman exposes the truth about South Africa. He dives deep into history and comes all the way up to the present day, where genocidal racist communists are working to exterminate the Afrikaner Boer people group. South Africa, where the Deep State forced diverse nations to live under one unitary regime, is a microcosm of what is coming to the entire world if humanity does not wake up.

China-Japan-Koreas
How We Lose against China
[National Review] The Cold War ended not on the battlefield but inside the Soviet Union. There were no tank maneuvers through the Fulda Gap in Germany, nor was there a nuclear armageddon. Instead, one of the two superpowers faced an internal crisis that shattered its society and its European empire. The Cold War was a global struggle, but its end was a matter of domestic politics.

This history has profound implications for our new struggle with China, which has been likened to the Cold War. Experts including me have written many books and essays about Taiwan, the South China Sea, and the Korean Peninsula, not to mention cyber and space warfare and, as China advances its Belt and Road initiative across Eurasia, the struggle over trade and trade routes. As with the Cold War, we see the struggle with China as unending. We simply can’t imagine a world beyond it.

But what if this new struggle were to end as the Cold War did in 1989: with a domestic evolution in either China or the United States that renders one of the two parties unwilling or unable to continue the competition? If we consider this scenario — a domestic conclusion to a global struggle — we of course assume the fatally weakened party will be China. After all, China is a society of increasing totalitarian dimensions, with a growing and increasingly restive middle class sitting atop a mountain of debt that carries the potential of igniting a domestic crisis. With its blend of communism and capitalism, China may not be truly Marxist anymore, yet it is more and more Leninist as its dictatorship suffocates the public space, leaving only the personal sphere for people to express themselves in. And regimes like that don’t end well, as we know from the examples of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc.

But what if we’re wrong? What if the society that undermines itself first is our own? Why would this come about?

Consider that the United States thrived as a modern mass democracy only in the print-and-typewriter era, which lasted roughly through the end of the 20th century. In communications, that age was defined by major newspapers, which published professionally written and researched articles based on a commonly perceived historical experience. Among major media, objectivity and neutral politics were taken for granted, as public schooling and a military draft enforced a common destiny that pushed people toward the political center and away from extremes. Such centrism was seen on early television as well, with the three network anchors differing in style rather than in politics. Moreover, much of the 20th century was a time when travel overseas was largely the domain of the wealthy and immigrants substantially cut ties with their places of origin: Thus they had no choice but to become, in effect, as the late Harvard political scientist Samuel P. Huntington put it, honorary Protestants like the rest of us. Despite all our troubles, flaws, and inconsistencies, we were a nation. And this also had much to do with a particular level of technological development that spawned a solid middle-class system, encompassing more than just technology, from one coast to the other. It was this nation that waged the Cold War and did not so much defeat the Soviet Union as outlast it and out-compete it.

That nation exists less and less, and principally because the technological context is no longer the same.

#1  The "nation that waged the Cold War and did not so much defeat the Soviet Union as outlast it and out-compete it" no longer exists. After about a year of COVID-19 the USA has still not, for example, eliminated the critical shortage of N95 masks for its health care personnel and for the common folk, and is still dependent on Chinese sources. Had the USA been that careless and irresponsible in 1942, it would have lost WWII.

#3  The tipping point has nothing to do with material wealth or technical prowess or military might. It's simply a matter of society's will to defend its core beliefs and values.

When the Russian elites gave up on Tsarism, the regime collapsed.

When French nobles gave up on the court of Versailles and the Old Regime, the French monarchy collapsed.

When 1930s-era conservative Catholic and leftist secular Frenchmen agreed that they hated each other more than they hated German aggressors, the fate of France's very formidable and well-led army was sealed.

No one knows when or what will trigger America's collapse, but the underlying cause is certain.

If we do not mount a ferocious and unstinting counter-attack against the Woke Nihilist assault on our Constitutional republic, our core values, beliefs and precious heritage as heirs of Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, Hamilton and Lincoln, then we will go down the path of the interwar French and pre-1917 Russians.

Woke-ism is far more dangerous to us than any foreign military arsenal or cyber-force or virus or other external threat.

Only we can destroy ourselves.
Only we can save ourselves.
The enemy is here. It is our fellow Woke Americans.

Victor Davis Hanson: How to deprogram us
[American Greatness] new buzzword on social media, cable news, and among leftist activists is "deprogramming."

Along with terms like "reprogramming," "de-Baathification," and "deplatforming," deprogramming refers to cleansing the incorrect mentalities of former Trump Administration officials—and even those who voted for Trump.

Note that deprogramming does not refer to elites who peddled the "Russian collusion" hoax for years, despite the abject absence of evidence.

Not long ago, two Washington Post columnists offered some solutions to the Trumpist threat. One, Max Boot, wished to ban Fox News and other conservative stations from cable subscriptions.

The other, Eugene Robinson, suggested that there was a need to focus on mostly "white" Republicans to "deprogram" their thoughts.

Pro forma "diversity training" has already been upgraded to include coming clean about "white supremacy" and "unearned privilege."

Graduates are supposed to emerge washed of their sins of entitlement. Only when thus vaccinated, can they become fully certified that they no longer pose a threat to the Other.

Still, how might a proper stepped-up deprogramming system deal with any diehard Trump refuseniks? Why not borrow the current Chinese "social credit system"?

Non-participating dead-ender Trumpers might lose so many social awareness points that they would be disqualified from staying at their beloved Holiday Inns or banned from Olive Garden restaurants.

Milder rejectionists could wear red MAGA cone hats. During Mao’s Cultural Revolution, such dunce cones proved useful in identifying and shaming the right wrong people.

Television, social media, and Hollywood could do their part. Viewers might be first required to participate in two-minutes of hate shouting, aimed at enemies on the screen: Donald and Melania, or perhaps former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

President Eisenhower Predicted Our Current Situation
[Victory Girls] Sixty years ago, President Dwight David Eisenhower gave his farewell address to the nation at the end of his second term as President. Even those who have never heard of President Eisenhower know his phrase "military-industrial complex". He predicted our current situation and was so prescient.

If you are under the age of forty, you may not have heard of President Eisenhower. He was born in 1890 and raised in Kansas. He was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served stateside during World War I:
In Eisenhower’s early army career, he excelled in staff assignments, serving under Generals John J. Pershing and Douglas MacArthur. After Pearl Harbor, General George C. Marshall called him to Washington to work on war plans. He commanded the Allied Forces landing in North Africa in November 1942; on D-Day, 1944, he was supreme commander of the troops invading France.
After D-Day, he received his fifth star. At the end of the war, he accepted Germany’s unconditional surrender. He was Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army, President of Columbia University and Supreme Commander of the new NATO force. He beat Democrat Adlai Stevenson and was inaugurated President in 1953.

Here in full is President Eisenhower’s farewell address:

#1  Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

#4  If you are under the age of forty, you may not have heard of President Eisenhower.

From the Woke Catechism: Eisenhower is often confused with Albert Einstein, a contemporary white male supremacist of the last century (who is often mistaken by Gen Z for Alfred Hedgehog, the intrepid North American crimesver of the small screen).

Whereas Einstein proved that everything is relative, Eisenhower ensured victory for white supremacists in Europe, North Africa and the Americas through a cunning ruse involving the fake "defeat" of Nazism.

Eisenhower went on to pave over sacred indigenous lands with his environmentally-rapist Insterstate Highway System, foreshadowing the Keystone Pipeline. Among his other atrocities was a love of golf, a form of dog-whistling involving ancient white Hebridean rituals with sticks and mashers.

Eisenhower is most notorious for his deliberate deception known as "school integration," whereby Black Americans were tricked into believing in such racist tropes as "equal opportunity" and dissuaded from pursuing separate schools and institutions where they can build a more just, verdant and equitable society free of toxic white influence.

Are you implying Eisenhower's thousand's of command decisions resulted in him being most notorious for "school integration"? What total bunk. I'm sure you welcome disagreeing perspectives. Right?

#13  He was the best German general of WWII.

Children, Bubba Lover of the Faeries8843 is quoting a common joke from back in the days before wokeness erased the idea of wordplay, using it to point out the superiority of the American philosophy over that of the Nazis. We made other jokes about the Soviets, mostly along the lines of

American diplomat to Soviet diplomat: Our system is superior. We can mock our president any time we want.

Soviet diplomat’s response: What do you mean, superior? We can mock your president any time we want, too, and get promoted for it!

Hupavins Crolutch1876‘s delightful confection is a spot on mockery of woke thinking.

#16  I'd heard the joke as a reference to when Germany's Eastern Offensive floundered, the other thing which would keep Russia from completely gelding Germany was Eisenhower's front, and in doing so Eisenhower made risky decisions which ultimately caused more damage to the Allied Forces than Germany could have done on its own; Market Garden being an obvious example.

The joke being, aggressive maneuvering through defended territory invites additional casualties and hardship as the rule, potmarked by the rare successes, such as Hannibal Barka, and highlighted by dismal failures, such as Publius Quinctilius Varus or to keep in time reference the German Eastern Offensive.

It was told to me by someone with respect and knowledge of Eisenhower.

India-Pakistan
Why Pakistan won’t be next to normalize with Israel
[AsiaTimes] Domestic constraints, support for Paleostine and growing ties with Iran will likely continue to keep Pakistain and Israel apart

The Abraham Accords have brought about peace between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain, with Sudan and Morocco also set to develop full diplomatic relations with Israel.

The guessing game is on as to which Arab or Moslem country night be next to recognize Israel. Pakistain is often mentioned in this regard and the Pak media have speculated about this too. But near-term Pak-Israeli peace is unlikely because of Pak domestic constraints and Islamabad’s foreign policy orientation.

Sheikh’s acquittal
[Dawn] THE Supreme Court’s decision to order the release of Omar Saeed Sheikh,
...also in our archives as Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, Ahmad Saeed Omar Sheikh and Ahmed Omar Sheikh...
the principal accused in the Daniel Pearl murder case, has come as a blow to not just the family of the slain journalist but also to proponents of free press everywhere. By a majority of two to one, the apex court extended the benefit of the doubt to the accused, thereby removing a key hurdle in his release.

Although a review petition has been filed, at the moment, there is little preventing Sheikh — arguably one of the most dangerous holy warriors — from being a free man. Given the ghastly nature of the crime he has been accused of, and the long and painful fight of the Pearl family for justice, it is no surprise that both his family and the new US Secretary of State Antony Blinken have condemned the decision in strong words. Dubbing Sheikh’s release an "affront to terrorism victims everywhere", Blinken has urged a review with the hope that justice will be done.

Science & Technology
New Study By Dr. Steven Quay Concludes that SARS-CoV-2 Came from a Laboratory
[CISION] SEATTLE, Jan. 29, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- A paper was published today by Dr. Steven Quay, M.D., PhD., CEO of Atossa Therapeutics, Inc., entitled, "A Bayesian analysis concludes beyond a reasonable doubt that SARS-CoV-2 is not a natural zoonosis but instead is laboratory derived." The 193-page paper can be downloaded from Zenodo, a general-purpose open-access repository operated by CERN, here. A short 'explainer' video about the paper is here.
A 48 hour rule and a large, large shaker of salt is warranted on this claim.
The purpose of the analysis was to determine the origin of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Beginning with a likelihood of 98.2% that it was a zoonotic jump from nature with only a 1.2% probability it was a laboratory escape, twenty-six different, independent facts and evidence were examined systematically. The final conclusion is that it is a 99.8% probability SARS-CoV-2 came from a laboratory and only a 0.2% likelihood it came from nature.

"Like many others, I am concerned about what appear to be significant conflicts of interest between members of the WHO team and scientists and doctors in China and how much this will impede an unbiased examination of the origin of SARS-CoV-2," said Dr. Quay.

"By taking only publicly available, scientific evidence about SARS-CoV-2 and using highly conservative estimates in my analysis, I nonetheless conclude that it is beyond a reasonable doubt that SARS-CoV-2 escaped from a laboratory. The additional evidence of what appears to be adenovirus vaccine genetic sequences in specimens from five patients from December 2019 and sequenced by the Wuhan Institute of Virology requires an explanation. You would see this kind of data in a vaccine challenge trial, for example. Hopefully the WHO team can get answers to these questions."

To assist in finding the truth and to get feedback on the methodologies used and conclusions reached in this paper, a pre-publication copy of this paper was sent to twenty-six scientists worldwide, including the WHO investigators currently in Wuhan, Wuhan Institute of Virology scientists, as well as other prominent virologists.
Send the paper to a refereed journal and let's see what they say.

Georgia County To Replace Confederate Monument With John Lewis Statue
[Huffpost] A tribute to the Confederacy outside a courthouse in Dekalb County, Georgia, will be replaced by a memorial to the late civil rights icon John Lewis, after unanimous approval from the county’s board of commissioners this week.

Lewis represented the Atlanta area, including parts of Dekalb County, in Congress for more than 30 years until his death at age 80 in July, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

The resolution approved by the county states that the spot outside the courthouse is "the most fitting" place for a memorial to Lewis, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The Confederate statue ― an obelisk titled "The Lost Cause" erected in 1908 by the United Daughters of the Confederacy ― was removed in June. Local residents watched and cheered as it came down.

I feel Georgia lost a great opportunity to eject his statue next to the Civil War Memorial to demonstrate how far Georgia has come in 150 years?

"Whenever history is erased or rewritten, it only lessens and even negates the accomplishments of those that shalt to make a better future from the issues of the past." J.K. 1973 )

But if the Socialist-Democrat did so. It would also cut the legs out from under their Racial Division agenda for elections and control of the Black Community. Because history clearly demonstrates we HAVE made great advancements, changes and HAVE peacefully and privately accomplished racial integration in the USA just the last 50+ years. An that many in the Black Community have stepped up and become part of the greater productive inter-racial economy and community.

A John Lewis Quote I remember...

“We are involved now in a serious revolution. This nation is still a place of cheap political leaders who build their careers on immoral compromises and ally themselves with open forms of political, economic and social exploitation. What political leader here can stand up and say, "My party is the party of principles?” John Lewis

Sure sounds like he hit the nail on the Head for the DC/Deep State.

#4  BTW:The part of "Local residents watched and cheered as it came down."

A quick Google (custom date range June to July 1, 2020) "Decatur, GA — DeKalb County on June 18 dismantled and removed a Confederate monument in the Decatur Square. Workers started with the top of the monument, removing it by midnight and then carved up the base into sections so it could be hauled away.Jun 19, 2020" .

Its removal was ordered by DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger (A White Superior Court Judge)....

There were NO CHEERING CROWDS and I doubt the work-crew was cheering having do this in the middle of the night like sneak thieves.

More Media Race Baiting help to stir the Pot of Hate that the Socialist-Democrats try to keep on a constant simmer.

#5  And someday John Lewis’ statue will also be removed... I wonder what Communist ‘hero’ will take his place

#6  In Jonesboro Tennessee about 15 years ago a person could buy a brick with his or her veteran's name on it and have it placed on a sidewalk with others. A lot of locals got bricks with their Confederate ancestors but when the crews started to place them the carpetbaggers stopped them. A lawsuit insued and since the Confederate veterans had been declared U. S. veterans the judge ordered them to proceed. In retaliation the carpetbagging city council stopped the project.

#7  Young urban professional driven (high property tax) gentrification currently well underway in Dekalb County. Government and services still trend heavily Wacondan, and likely to remain that way. Statues and images dedicated to Lewis and other leftests are Woke tributes and offerings. This area was formerly well policed, desirable suburban Atlanta. Give the societal enema of gentrification another 20-30 years, the region may recover and once again be inhabitable.

Removal of the 'Lost Cause' obelisk was the 25 meter target. The long-range goal is destruction of President Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson (on their favorite horses, Blackjack, Traveller, and Little Sorrel, respectively), at Stone Mountain Park.

This is Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock country.

#9  What political leader here can stand up and say, "My party is the party of principles?” All of them can say that. Then they will say, "If you don't like THOSE principles, well, we have others." HT to Groucho Marx.

#10  Someone should gather the pieces and, Japanese style, put it back together with something that looks like gold to accentuate our resistance to their vicious destruction of the past.

#11  They won. Losing has consequences. (I should put that in quotes, as IIRC they said as much.)
