Ill. Gov Quinn signs "Amazon Tax". Amazon says: "Bye!"
Amazon just terminated all Illinois Associates. I'm sure CA Governor Brown will be next to do this. Idiots

#2  We can count on IL and its bleeding sisters to resurrect the Fugitive Slave Tax Act and claim prior activity means Amazon et al are bonded for generations to pay.

#3  I look for all states with sales or use taxes to do the same thing, then Amazon can only operate out of the states which don't collect such taxes. All the states are seeking to enhance their revenues.

#4  Bahamas.

#5  All the states are seeking to enhance their revenues.

And if the states collude rather than compete, there's always the Seycelles.

#6  Seychelles. Or something like that.

#7  Quill case (ht Insty) ruled that you had to have a physical presence in the state to tax

#8  ...remember way back when Nevada had the corner on legal gambling. It just takes one state that's willing to harbor Amazon et al and then the rest will follow to get employment and business rather than that they expect rendered upon Caesar.

#2  Well, I was wrong. Obama CAN bring us together. I never thought I'd agree with Louis Farrakhan about anything but now?

#5  The trifecta: Farrakhan, Obama and Rev, Right (No Sharptone, you're not radical enough yet, but once you get off Fox News, we'll reconsider.

#5  ok... that still doesn't clear it up..

Perhaps not. But from a probability perspective, one of them is much more likely to grow a sack than the other.

#6  Meanwhile I'm working on my tax brackets. But still an opportunity lost - with his interest in private affairs of the NCAA football ranking program why not take the time to question why the first round playoff winners do not enter at the 16 seed in each quarter...and for that matter why not ask the reasoning behind the names for each quarter...they make no sense either...chose the Endor Wookies to win the thing.
