Rabbani sez future includes no Taliban |
2001-10-11 |
The former president of Afghanistan who was ousted by the Taleban, Burhanuddin Rabbani, has said that the future of the country can only be determined after the Taleban has been destroyed and peace restored. Mr Rabbani was speaking in Dushanbe, where he met President Imomali Rakhmonov and other Tajik leaders. He said he was not considering the future leadership of Afghanistan at the moment. Mr Rabbani said that all Afghans, except for those he described as terrorists with blood on their hands, could take part in determining the future of the country. |
