Den Beste on The McKinney |
2002-04-12 |
McKinney's primary contribution to national affairs in the past eight months or so has been to make the rest of us wonder where they get the voters making up her safe district. Black politicians -- at least those who claim apostolic succession from Dr. King -- have essentially replaced the Irish in American politics. The "civil rights establishment" in big cities is really just the latest version of the old Demo political machine. The only difference is that crusading journalists were able to help clean up Irish machines, but because of the supposed "moral authority" of the King priesthood, the media cannot criticize Black machines. Jonah Goldberg's horsewhip is at the cleaners so instead he wrote this about the creature.Addendum: Bill Quick reveals that McKinney has been accepting contributions from the likes of Archer Daniels Midland, Lockheed Martin, and the Machinist and Aerospace Workers, all of whom are likely to benefit financially from increased government defense spending in the wake of 9/11.Saaayyyy! Maybe she was the criminal mastermind and we owe Binny and Prince Abdullah and Mullah Omar an apology. Now mind you, there's no evidence to support that but... (Dare I say it? Oh, why not?)... "a complete investigation might reveal that to be the case." |
