| Israel: Suicide attacks foiled |

| Israeli forces captured a Palestinian gunman Saturday night near the West Bank border who they believe was planning a suicide attack on Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces. The man was taken into custody after he opened fire on Israeli troops conducting searches in the village of Anin, about 12 kilometres (8 miles) northwest of Jenin, the IDF said. The man led the Israeli forces to an explosives-laden belt he had hidden near Anin. The IDF said they believed he was planning to carry out a suicide attack against Israeli citizens. Probably a pretty good bet. Those belts don't go with any other outfit. The Paleos are pretty desperate by now to get somebody in there to explode to dispel the illusion that some sort of progress is being made... |
