| The head of the Moscow-backed administration of Chechnya said Monday the safety of rebels who disarm and surrender will be guaranteed if they have not been involved in terrorist acts. "I guarantee your safety on behalf of the country's leadership if you do not have blood on your hands," Akhmad Kadyrov said. He said those who give up the separatist war against Russian forces would be given help finding jobs. "If you do not surrender, you will be killed because terrorism will be fought by the toughest possible method," Kadyrov said. Sounds like a good statement of principle. Now let's hope they stick with it. |
