 ...this just in.....Abu Abbas, head of the Palestine Liberation Front... captured on outskirts of bagdhad. I hope someone remembered to kick him in the nuts for Mrs. klinghoffer.

| #7 [The charges named by Frank] It was dropped in the 1990's, partly because of a statute of limitations and partly because Justice Department officials were not sure that their evidence would stand up in an American court. WTF??? Not stand up in court? The man committed piracy on the high seas, murdered a defenseless man, and took a couple hundred hostages! This fella could be tried on the piracy case alone based on the following evidence: Prosecutor (to each witness): Did you see the defendant aboard the Achille Loro with a weapon in his hands? Witnesses: Yes I did. Prosecutor: The prosecution rests, your Honor. And as I recall, there's no statute of limitations on murder. Ditto on piracy. Acccccckkk! Did the State Department invade and conquer the Department of Justice while we weren't looking? |

| #6 From NY Times ( on what he is being charged with) Mr. Abbas faces a life sentence in Italy, and American prosecutors have left open the possibility that a federal indictment for piracy, hostage taking and conspiracy could be revived. It was dropped in the 1990's, partly because of a statute of limitations and partly because Justice Department officials were not sure that their evidence would stand up in an American court. Gee, I wonder what he'll have to say after 4 days of no sleep. |
