Davis Recall Let the Smear Begin!
2003-07-30
I was cruising this morning through the MANY left-wing nut ball sites (they are entertaining) and I came across an article by Paul Brennan at www.ocweekly.com that really stood out. I cherry picked the best comments from the article but I encourage you to read the entire article in the left-coast version of the village voice. You can tell that the Dems/Davis are nervous by the level of venom they spew:

Bill Simon? Everything in his life, except for his disastrous campaign for governor, was handed to him by his rich and powerful father. He should be ashamed to call himself a Republican. There’s no room for a spoiled rich boy who owes everything to his daddy in the party of George W. Bush.
(Bill is NOT a charismatic person and but he ALMOST beat Davis in this last election. So he must be a threat to Emperor Davis in this next election. I like the connection ?jab? at President Bush.)

The Issa family, on the other hand, encouraged a do-for-yourself attitude in its boys, with only one of the Issa brothers going to prison as a result. And it wasn’t Darrell, who’s never been in jail longer than it takes to be booked. Even so, Darrell’s doing-for-himself has attracted the attention of so many police departments and insurance-fraud investigators it can sometimes be confusing to remember which allegation against him you’re dismissing as unimportant.
(Darrel funded the recall effort and Comrade Brennan goes out of his way to smear Issa and his family. No mention about how Darrell turned his life around and started a successful business that made him rich. Oh my a business man that made money? He must have done I on the backs of the poor and downtrodden.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has done something far more difficult. Arnold has taken a thick Austrian accent and the acting abilities of a robot, and parlayed those handicaps into a successful movie career playing a robot with a thick Austrian accent. How? In a word, discipline. In interviews for his latest robot-with-an-accent movie, Arnold credits his late father with instilling in him the discipline needed to succeed at any task, robot-related or otherwise. And Arnold’s father, Gustav, knew discipline: say what you will about the Nazis, but they were a disciplined bunch. According to documents in the Austrian State Archives, Arnold’s father wasn’t just a Nazi party member; he also joined both the storm troopers and the army, reaching the rank of sergeant major in the military police. Even though Arnold says he didn’t know any of this until after his father was dead, imagine the sort of discipline a Nazi MP can pass on to his son. Thanks to the recall, we might get a taste of such discipline in Sacramento.
(I knew there was something that the Davis goons had on Arnold but not sure how a fathers ?crimes? are passed on to the son? Arnold of course was a body builder and a VERY successful real estate investor. Gosh! An immigrant that made something of himself and DID NOT rely on Uncle Sam? How can this be? And yes they need some discipline in Sacramento)

So this is how the ‘campaigning’ will go in the golden state. Thank God that we only have to wait 70 more days. Cheers from the Peoples Republic of California.

#7  It seems the Dems standard game plan is to not talk issues but smear and character assassinate. Which is pretty standard defense attorney behavior when you know your client is guilty as hell and unless you completely divert the jury's attention away from the critical proofs of evidence and run them down some snipe hunt, your boy is gonna fry.

Since they are all either trial lawyers or suck ups to trial lawyers, it does not surprise me.

It is also a pretty good indicator that the Dems are scared silly about this....rolling out the slander and libel mobile early in the battle.

#6  Hacks and empty suits are a definite upgrade, IMO. Better an empty suit, than one stuffed with the 34 bil that's up in smoke over the last 4 years.

Say, wasn't Gray in the Nam? Where they killed all the babies 'n stuff? Same rank as Lt. Calley? Not saying he had anything to do with it or anything like that at all, but imagine the atrocities he could've picked up... etc., etc., etc.

I don't care who they run. I would rather have a bougainvillea for governor.

#5  The prospect of yet another Davis-orchestrated smear campaign is reason enough to vote the asshole out of the governor's office.

#4  and in retort to everything Davis could possibly say about anyone else, including the random name out of the phone book:
"It's the economy, stupid."

#3  Tom McClintock is the only guy I've heard who actually has any plans on the table to fix the problems in California. The rest of these guys are hacks or empty suits in the worst way.

#2  All pretty typical here in California. People here are pretty much idiots, so it's up to the rest of you to help those of us who are not contain the Hollywood/Berkeley culture before the rest of the country catches a terminal case of dumb!
