Iraqi Attacks on U.S. Soldiers Said Down |

Attacks on American troops in Iraq have declined in the last two weeks and insurgents are increasingly targeting Iraqis working with the U.S.-led coalition in an effort to intimidate them, the top U.S. civilian and military leaders here said Tuesday. Read: Iron Hammer is having an impact. "The security situation has changed," Bremer said at a press conference with Gen. John Abizaid, the chief of the U.S. Central Command. "They have failed to intimidate the coalition," he said. "They have now begun a pattern of trying to intimidate innocent Iraqis. They will not succeed...If Saddam taught the Iraqis nothing else it was how to endure the depredations of thugs." Read: We have an Iron Jackhammer. |

#2 This is great news. Looks like Iron Hammer had an effect. Also, I imagine we've changed our patrolling habits somewhat to lesson to opportunity for them to ambush us. |

#1 As you can readily see from recent CentCom reports, when they attack us, they get killed. Attacking our friends is easier, but I suspect we will adapt as we have right along. My motto for the next 30 days |
