Red Brigades leaders arrested in ...Cairo |

EFL Two key members of the ultra-leftist group the Red Brigades including a woman convicted for the murder of former prime minister Aldo Moro have been arrested in Cairo, Italian police said. Rita Algranati, 46, who was sentenced in absentia to life in prison for the spectacular 1978 kidnapping and murder of the former leader of the Christian Democratic Party, was detained at Cairo airport, anti-terorrism police said. The other detainee is Maurizio Falessi, 49, who was also convicted in absentia to 11 and 23 years in prison for his role as a member of the Union of Combatant Communists, a Red Brigades splinter group that was active in the 1970s and 1980s. Why were they in Egypt? |
