A landmine blast has hit a truck transporting servicemen of the Russian Interior Ministryâs forces in the Chechen capital Grozny. âYesterday at 1245, a radio-controlled bomb exploded near checkpoint No 26 in Groznyâs Oktyabrsky District, on Krasnoflotskaya Street,â said a representative of the Chechen Interior Ministry, cited by the RIA Novosti news agency. The bomb was made out of a 152mm artillery shell, the policeman added. The agencyâs source said that the blast had killed the deputy head of the military commandantâs office, Major Guseinov, and a contract soldier, Sergeant Katsuk. The head of a communications station Warrant Officer Pisarenko and conscript soldier Karelin were wounded, the source said. |
