#2  Megawati running out of juice? Not jolting the current trends? So many good puns . . .

#1  According to many political analysts Megawati’s last minute alliance with former dictator Suharto’s powerful Golkar party is just a marriage of convenience and is unlikely to save her from electoral defeat. Struck in late August the deal left many voters wondering. Even though it won last April’s parliamentary elections, a cloud of suspicions still hangs over Golkar for alleged violence and corruption.

Megawati's willing alliance with anything to do about Suharto should be her undoing. There needs to be a clean break from the old policies of corruption and graft. That Megawati has shown herself unable to do this disqualifies her from leadership. The Golkar faction needs to be isolated and starved of all official support.
