The Workers Communist Party of Iraq and the Organization of Women's Freedom in Iraq staged street protests in Baghdad to protest the U.S. offensive in Falluja and the American presence in the country. "No to American occupation, no to Afghanization of Iraq," street protesters chanted.Sayid Hashem Abu Raghif, an aide to Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, was arrested Wednesday in Najaf. Najaf's police chief, Ghaleb al-Jaza'eri, said Abu Raghif was detained for supporting and endorsing a militant group planning to carry out attacks on various government positions in Najaf and on multinational forces.
