N Korea claims 190 US spy flights
2004-12-02
North Korea claimed that the US military conducted at least 190 spy flights against it in November, seeking an opportunity to invade. "This is a clear indication that the US imperialists are watching for a chance to mount a pre-emptive attack on the (North), while frantically pursuing their hostile policy towards it," said the North's official Korean Central News Agency.
Yawn. Have another shot of that grass moonshine. Or three.
North Korea regularly makes such accusations.

#11  Taiwan: the Israel of Asia?

#10  I also wouldn't doubt that Taiwan couldn't cobble together a nuke (or already has a few) to use against a mainland invasion. One nuke at the Three Gorges dam and China has MAJOR problems. The Taiwanese would probably prefer to be destroyed than gobbled up, and would respond to an attack in every way possible. That would NOT be good news for the PRC.

#9  "Hugging the Waist/Belt" and "Attacking where the US/West/ UN are NOT" are still axioms within the Chinese, NK, and Russian militaries. China has a bunch of anti-China, anti-Communism democractic states to eliminate if she is achieve to her dreams of local and international, dare global, hegemony. Posters in assor Mil FORUMS believe that China's best oppor to conquer Taiwan is when the USA attacks IRAN andor SYRIA, espec IRAN. Pragmatically, TAIWAN is likely China's first target as USF's are concentrated in JAPAN GUAM, HAWAII and DIEGO GARCIA, while SOKOR and JAPAN's milfors. espec JAPAN's, is too modern and powerful to guarantee Chinese milpol victory without sufferring horrendous casualties!

#8  That's a flight every three or four hours. We'd be better off using a geosynchronous satellite except for the fact that, given the way the North Koreans are behaving, we will have no need for it in 5, 4, 3, 2...

#7  They should be happy to be able to see these flights and report about them. One of these days, they'll see the flight and....end of story

#4  I'll perk up when I start reading about 190 spy flights over Tehran.

#3  We should discreetly let slip that we have been having "discussions" with some Nork "military commanders", on assurances that "things don't get out of hand", and to "avoid misunderstandings". I bet they would kill 50% of their leadership just on spec. Nothing quite so terrifies as diplomatic doublespeak.

#2  And we probable had 190 reasons to watch their movements and incursions; starting with those mobile launchers in the woods!
