Not all of them, more's the pity... | The Punjab Government has banned several Shia and Sunni clerics from entering the province and declared 140 imambargahs as sensitive. The chief secretary and the inspector general of police have decided to ban the clerics because of their repute of making sect-hate speeches in public gatherings. The Punjab government has also cancelled the vacations of policemen and women to cope with the security arrangements. Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Jhang, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Darya Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan have been declared as sensitive areas and the district nazims were asked to impose Section 144 of the Maintenance of Public Order allowing the government to use the army in case of serious trouble. |
