Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz told US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Monday that Israel favoured diplomatic pressure over military means to prevent Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.
"If that doesn't work, of course, we'll clobber them..." | Speaking to Israel Radio after a meeting with Rice, who was on a two-day visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories, Mofaz said that at the moment the efforts must be diplomatic. "The way to act, the most acceptable way for us and the Americans is to use the diplomatic track to bring this issue to the (United Nations) Security Council and issue sanctions," Mofaz said. |
