#9 18 people injured in explosion in Anantnag Agencies/ Srinagar In the second major strike ahead of annual Amarnath Yatra, militants today detonated a powerful explosive-laden car in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district injuring 18 people, including seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, police sources said. The militants, targeting a passing CRPF vehicle, struck with the car bomb at Lazbal, about 60 km from here on Khanabal-Pahalgam road leading to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath, around 1.15 P.M., the sources said. The security forces' vehicle bore the brunt of the explosion, resulting in injuries to seven CRPF personnel, the sources said adding 11 pedestrains also suffered splinter injuries in the attack. |
