Report: Israel violates Lebanon air space | |
2005-07-12 | |
BEIRUT, Lebanon, July 12 (UPI) -- The Lebanese army claims four Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese air space, flying over south and eastern Lebanon Tuesday. The planes allegedly entered Lebanon's space from the west coming from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea off the cost of Tyre in south Lebanon. They flew over southern regions, then headed east toward the Bekaa valley before turning toward Israel. The planes were not fired on by anti-aircraft guns manned by the Lebanese army and Hezbollah. Lebanon repeatedly asks the United Nations to restrain Israel's alleged frequent violations of its air space.
