Seven policemen were killed and at least one was wounded in an attack on a police patrol in western sector of the northern city of Mosul on Thursday, police said. Separately, police backed by allied troops arrested 29 suspected terrorists in operations in northern Iraq, according to a statement released by the Multi-National Forces. Two of the gunmen were nabbed in Mosul. The others were caught in action in several parts of the city and its outskirts.US Army gunship helicopters raided on Thursday insurgents' hideouts in the town of Al-Dallouiah north of the Iraqi capital, the army said in a statement. The statement indicated that the jet fighters targetted hideouts, located on the banks of the Tigris river, adding that the gunmen had fired missiles from the targetted locations. Two army helicopter gunships, hovering at low altitude, hit the targets with heavy machine gun fire and missiles, it added.
