 The Sudanese military announced on Monday that 19 military personnel were killed in a helicopter crash over Darfur's regional capital of Niyala. Military spokesperson said the M-17 helicopter crashed when it was in an administrative mission. It was heading to Al-Leait Jar Al-Nabi region in southern Darfur. Possibility of the crash would be bad weather after failed attempts to land, the spokesman said. The helicopter hit the ground, causing the death of the crew, including three officers, one technician and 15 passengers. |
