| Iraqi police defuse huge truck bomb in Karbala |

| KARBALA, Iraq - Iraqi police in the Shia Muslim holy city of Kerbala said they found and defused a huge truck bomb on Saturday, days before a religious festival. âThe truck was packed with high-explosives in 16 gas canisters, two 200-litre barrels full of gasoline and explosives and two large rockets as well as a large artillery shell,â police officer Karim Sultan Al Hasnawi told Reuters. In total, it carried about a tonne of explosives. |
