Shining Moment in Swedish Children's Theatre

A Swedish drama student was fined 2,400 crowns on Wednesday for reading pornographic stories to a group of six-year-olds as part of a theater project on children's sexuality. A Stockholm court ruled that the stories the man had read out were deeply pornographic and completely inappropriate for the age group, newspaper Dagens Nyheter said on its Web site. It said the stories were about children having oral sex with each other.

The man's lawyer told Swedish radio that he would appeal against the verdict as he had not meant the stories to be seen as pornographic and had not acted with intent.
And that makes it allright, by gum!

How many times do we get into trouble because we didn't say, I forgot. Say your under arrest for armed robbery. You say I forgot armed robbery was illegal. - Steve Martin, Comedy is not pretty.

Apparantly the Defense is using the Steve Martin defense. What a wild and crazy guy.

#1  Ahh yes, a theater project on children's sexuality...it's good to know our fellow citizens in the developed, democratic West are spending their time constructively, addressing society's important issues. I have often regretted the fact that I never became more involved in the theater, film, and the dramatic arts. Would life be more fulfilling if I pursued it as a career? Perhaps it's not too late. I might yet join some local amateur group…if only to keep an eye on what the hell they’re doing and crack skulls if they decide it's a good idea to plan a project on children's sexuality!!!
