| Terrs kill 11 Iraqi soldiers in ambush |

| BAQUBA, Iraq - Insurgents attacked an Iraqi army patrol with a roadside bomb north of Baghdad on Saturday and then ambushed the unit, killing 11 soldiers and wounding several other people, the Iraqi police said. The attack occurred in Udaim, a volatile town just north of Baquba, about 60 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad. The soldiers were travelling in a five-vehicle patrol when a bomb went off nearby. Immediately afterwards, guerrillas opened fire in what police described as a carefully executed plan. Eleven soldiers were killed and two were wounded in the assault, which also destroyed four military vehicles. Two other people, possibly insurgents, were also killed, the police said, and five civilians were wounded. |
