Following the recent warming of relations between Israel and Muslim Pakistan, two other Muslim countries which did not previously have diplomatic relations with Israel have approached Israeli authorities to establish new political contacts. An Afghan ambassador recently invited the Israeli Embassy staff to celebrate Afghanistan's Independence Day at his residence, according to Yediot Aharonot. According to reports, the Israeli embassy staff-members in two other countries have also been holding talks with local authorities. In Bangladesh as well, relations with Israel have reportedly been warming as well, as Bangladesh's ambassador recently approached his Israeli counterpart with an offer to establish regular relations.
